BREAKING NEWS: Porsche Goes Ass-First Off Racetrack - Sun To Come Up Tomorrow.

@ruggels: Given the large number of A3 3.2 S-lines i've seen, I imagine they would sell a decent number. Especially if they drop the 3.2 and charge about the same for the S (it shouldn't cost that much more to build).

A five door S3 could open the door to a US version. Since it's based on the same body as the US spec A3 it would be easier to federalize, and the A3 brand image in the US is a 5-door.

I wonder if it's some sort of waste-heat collection system. BMW did play around with steam-hybrids at one point, no?

I'm lukewarm to the idea of toll roads, but I don't think privatization is a good idea. Congestion pricing or conversion to toll roads needs to be done along with increased public transit options.

We should be expanding our cargo rail in anticipation of the inevitable demise of cheap fuel. We ship way too much stuff by truck.

Further cementing the longstanding maxim that the 4-cyl turbo is the engine to get in the A4.

too bad they're not going to build it.

@Kaneda: motors in/on the wheels/hubs are a bad idea because they're heavy. Unnecessary unsprung weight. Plus, you can only ever send 25% (or 50% in 2wd) of your torque to each wheel. Mechanical/electronic LSDs let you send more than 25% (or 50%) of torque to a wheel.

This thing is screaming for a small diesel.

@sos10: the cayman is faster AND it ain't a convertible. Convertibles are for chicks, pricks and poseurs.

@cgates1: They need to ditch the vestigal "seats" in the 911, move the engine a foot or two forward and bump up the displacement. Then they wont have to treat their boxster engineers like redheaded stepchildren.

Needs truck nuts.

@FightingChance: The Fisker engine sounds thingy is the electric car equivalent of neon skirt lights.

I love how he throws his right blinker on. Careful! He's about to merge!

It's spelled "Bläger"

Hwy 58 from 101 to i5 between Atrashcadero and Beggarsfield. Many statutes of limitations ago I averaged over 80mph and 12 MPG on that stretch in an integra GSR (which normally got about twice that). Some of the most fun I've had in a car (while it was moving).

@brandegee: JDM vers is the 2.0 due to homologation requirements. They sell enough of those that they don't have to use the 2.0 in the US or UK versions.
