Anyone in their right mind will freely and publicly have disdain for a company that has no shame in publicly beta-testing autopilot software on a 4k pound vehicle that can seriously injure or kill someone.

There is an underlying disdain for people that deliberately misuse a potentially lethal technology in a way that puts others at risk.

Imagine, a badly-conceived feature, that nobody needed and nobody asked for, on a car with only limited sight-and-sensor capability... is running into problems (and other inanimate objects) almost immediately.

I make robots at a University. There is nothing inpressive about this.... BS students have done equivalent capstones. Releasing alpha products like Steam games on cars is insanity.

The Tesla just sits in the middle of the aisle blocking traffic and sawing it’s wheels back and forth until everyone else finds a way around it.  I’d call that a fail.

It might be worse in the sense that a lot of objects in parking lots are people and kids, not fire trucks, semi trucks, or concrete barriers.

It continues to astound me that incredibly immature technologies that simply don’t work are allowed to use us all as guinea pigs.

I think we will see issues because the tech is not anywhere near ready for the prime time and it’s kinda hard to see your car clearly when you across a lot operating a phone that likely has significant delay sending commands to get the car to stop.

Yeah, I think people thought that introducing this stuff in early levels would get people used to it and help them deal with the change curve (ala hybrids to full electric) but this shit is just flat out dangerous.
