I’m kinda with you on Frum, but he maintains some very robustly (and I think, incorrect) foreign policy views.

Totally.
Of all of the conservatives who have turned to rejecting Trump root-and-branch, Rubin was actually the most surprising to me. Frum’s been an antagonist of the Republican Party almost since the day he left the White House, so it’s no surprise that he’d hate Trump. I also have a sneaking suspicion that he’s (mostly) a…
Liz Spayd has been largely fucking awful as the Times’ Public Editor, so I was a little surprised to see this, actually.
Mine, too. I was a little surprised to see it was Tumulty, though.
Calling her “mother” is kind of weird, but not all that weird, if it’s like, in front of your kids, I guess. But sitting at a professional dinner with your colleagues? That’s extraordinarily strange, and I’d consider that person extremely unprofessional and the kind of person I’d go to great lengths to avoid working…
Democrats still hold the ultimate responsibility for abandoning Howard Dean’s 50-state strategy and failing to heed the warnings of 2010, 2012, and 2014, but this particular cycle they were fucked just about any way they tried to move.
I can’t imagine it either, but we’ve got three weeks to find out. I find it difficult to believe this is Farenthold’s last scoop of the election.
Now it won’t be the same with every relationship but for me and my wife, good communication has only made our bond stronger.
Hey there, Dead In Bed - Harris’ advice is spot-on. I have (very recently) initiated a divorce after 8 years in a relationship and 6 years of marriage with my wife, whom I had a very similar relationship with. We have always been very tight friends, good partners, etc.; but our sexual relationship has always been…
If they promise not to make a difference, then why have ‘em?
No, I actually think it’s because he doesn’t believe in charity, and his donations are going to be paltry. Also, per other commenter somewhere in the thread, his effective tax rate was really, really low, which is suspicious. His supporters will completely ignore that he’s a 1%-er.
It does make me additionally concerned about what his reaction will be when 0% of his legislative agenda makes it through his first term due to the Republicans’ geographical advantages in the House.
One is a de facto requirement for a Presidential campaign. The other’s pretty unusual, even if it’s not particularly onerous. I’ll let you decide which is which.
For what it’s worth, I’m pretty sure there’s nothing shady in his taxes. However, the press always picks up on charitable donations, and I’m willing to bet that there are very, very few (if any) in his taxes, which is something that won’t be reported on favorably. I’m guessing that’s why they are dragging their feet.
He was asked about it in an interview recently, and his response was that his wife does their taxes, they’ve been busy, and they’ll get around to it. (Not exaggerating)
Isn’t professionalism a societal construction? If it is can it be changed?
Should people that tattoo their face be banned from having a job? Of course not. But reality is what it is, you’re going to be automatically shut out of the *vast* majority of career paths with that one choice. So you better be prepared to own it.
I’m not a Sanders supporter, but that’s both surprising and disappointing.
I really wish Pareene published more. I was really excited when he came back, but he hasn’t done much (on the front side) since coming back. (I know, I know, he probably has a MEGATON of other responsibilities)
