Let me slow your directionless roll here. This entire article is predicated on the fact that a supposed origin story for the pit Rancor from RotJ is shown, something that is literally the crux of quintessential Star Wars storytelling.

No, it’s just a simple, if perhaps a bit campy, method of conveying distress that doesn’t necessarily equate to a lack of knowledge regarding the possible usage of jetpacks.

All I can think of is that these literally are just the first jumptroopers the FO has ever used. I guess one could also try to reason that these troopers were uncommonly used in many facets of SW, considering they aren’t in the OT films, and I’m kinda certain aren’t in the PT films. But not sure how well this holds

Pretty sure they're surprised that the FO troopers can fly now, not that jetpacks exist...

Queue the smart aleck comments that neglect the entirely valid possibility that three young adults may not remember the days of the Empire or the Republic, let alone a niche class of trooper.

These are the first First Order troopers we’ve seen with jetpacks. They’re also clearly the first jetpack troopers that our three main characters have seen. You’re assuming they know the history of the franchise as we know it, and deriding them for it.

That’s a fun theory, but anyone watching the end of the films can see that Lucas never recieves sole official writing or directing credit. So if that was his devious intent, he failed at it.

The story will be set in the Second Age, most likely during the forging of the rings of power by Celebrimbor. This does not retread any of the story of The Lord of The Rings, which takes place in the Third Age.

He was pretty good in The Tudors and Mission Impossible. His role as Superman was marred by poor writing.

Based on how she’s described in the books, Yen looks just about right. Keep in mind that the games took some artistic license with the source material. Yen is supposed to look like an older teen, and Triss doesn’t have fire-red hair. As for Ciri, I think the close-up picture with the grimy face is making her appear

She is described in the books as being pale with the ashen white hair of a witcher. She comes from the marriage of Emhyr, a Nilfgaardian, and Pavetta, of Cintra. Cintra is a northern city, the people are often called Nordlings, and are pale in complexion. The Nilfgaardians are also described as white, but I suppose

That’s a few of the many. Not to mention the fact that the Poe Dameron comic is literally on Neimoidia right now, and they just wrapped up a Mace Windu comic set between AotC and TCW.

Yea, they were stupidly fragile because they were loaded with armed explosives.

A common misconception is that being in the vacuum of space would kill you immediately. It would happen fairly quickly, and it would be painful, but you can be saved. After she returns, she’s in a coma for a bit. Even for a space fantasy, this is fairly realistic.

Well, that’s not how hyperspace works. You can’t just enter it and exit it immediately and expect to not be hundreds of miles ahead. The moment you enter, you’ve gone an extremely considerable distance. The speed of faster than light travel should’ve made this plot detail obvious. The First Order was simply going to

Jedi Temple Guards had them in The Clone Wars show as well. Most prominent in the later seasons.

That vaguely describes 70% of all drama films.

This. This right here. Thanks for the laugh!

He wasn’t “retconned”, the Shattered Empire comics were released nearly in tandem with The Force Awakens. It was planned from the start. And if you read the story, it’s only a single mission, and Shara is selected out of sheer luck to join Luke.

I’m going with the theory that Rey’s mother is Iden Versio, but her father is essentially the force (a la Anakin), and Del Meeko is a Joseph-type character. One could say that anyone born of the force in such a way would be a Skywalker.
