The first app I bought for my first decent Android phone was Vignette. It has the typical filters to add leaky polaroid styles, but also has a lovely generic film grain and a black and white filter that provides an enormous amount of control. I use it all the time.

You think. I'm not sure. They appear to have overstepped the mark and are now back-peddling like mad.

I'm not a knee-jerk kind of person, but this essentially makes Instagram a humungous image library that is open for companies to use for their own commercial purposes. And while the T&Cs stipulate 'no compensation' they don't lay out any rights of objection on the part of the photographer or the subject of the photo.

Yes. And not because it might improve your career prospects, but because it's polite and will take about 3 seconds. These things cost nothing.

I really enjoyed it, despite never having finished the book. My daughter, who seems to carry a 'not in the book' sign to flash up whenever we go to the cinema (and is mildly obsessed with Middle Earth), thought it was a faithful adaptation.

Or send a PDF of boarding pass to a Kindle, and it scans correctly too.

Dunno. Clicked the link, signed in with Facebook and started searching through the courses. The page now has 'invite only', but I can still log in. Just searching for a French course :)

It is very slow, but I logged in straight away, and have a profile, without having to wait for an email.

1. Replace all instances of the word 'very' with the word 'fucking'.

Imagine if all the creativity and time that went into coming up with this kind of bullshit was actually put to productive use. Why, a large group of people - say a church or religion - attempting to do something genuinely good could change the world.

Has anyone had any luck with Smartglass yet. I just get a stream of errors every time I try anything with it. Samsung Galaxy S2 controlling my blu ray player over wifi is cool though.

That's what I said, pretty much, but also that this particular instance of abuse (and most abuse within any 'church') is nothing to do with religion.

I was thinking exactly the same thing. Perfect Christmas present/project for my son.

It's probably worth noting that these types of things are never really about religion, god, worship or sex. They're about exerting power and control over others. Religion just provides a group of people who are happy to be controlled to a certain degree.

And then you'll have to pay to put Minecraft on each one. (surely it's not beyond the whit of Mojang to have a pay once play anywhere licence).

Slightly shorter answer - no.

Audiotool (http://www.audiotool.com/app/chrome) is a Chrome app that is similar - but more extensive - to Caustic on Android. It is stunning and I don't understand why more people don't know about it.

I've just finished Cujo again. It's a book that makes me hope that someone has gone in and changed the ending in the time since I last read it. It's always the same.

So the pitch is this: the screen is bigger, but lower resolution than a Nexus 7. The outdated processor is slower, the graphics processor(s) is a lot slower, it's a bit thinner, has about the same battery life, no USB, weighs a little less, has no gorilla glass and is $130 more.
