Table flipping at Dodge after they prematurely announced they would led the segment in fuel economy

Watched a video explaining it today. GM claims that the extra weight of the 4WD system causes the 4x4 version to be tested in “another class of truck” which increases the rolling resistance of the EPA’s test. If that is true, it makes sense that the 4x4's get down rated.

A i understand it, the 4x4 is rated for a heavier weight class, so the EPA test places additional load on the truck in highway mode.

Thank you! They perform like $500'000 cars while costing like a 5th of that in their top trim, why can’t people just appreciate them for what they are?

I’m just here for all the bitching and moaning.  Honestly the corvette is the every man’s supercar. You don’t get to have a car look like it should cost $150k with materials out of cars that cost $150k and then complain when it even costs $75k.

Funny part is, if they transplanted the interior of that VW to the corvette and switched badges, you would still complain the interior is garbage. your whole rubbermaid comment indicates you haven't sat in a corvette newer than the C5; maybe base C6

There are a large percentage around these parts that will criticize anything GM does out of pure habit. Clearly GM is not blameless in this phenomenon, especially when it comes to interior design, but for many here it really doesn’t matter what’s under discussion if it’s GM it’s shit.

So my Ram has 3 open recalls with no fix....
-My Transmission might shift out of Park at random
-My Side airbags may or may not work when needed
-And now my tailgate might fly open....

Great.

Why would she need to mention other recalls in an article about a specific recall?

Oh dude, Nissan’s just getting good these days. Not cars, but the corporate shitshow is very entertaining.

Dissenting opinion: Of current fullsize truck styling, I actually dig the Chevy in Trail Boss guise. Other than the Raptor, the F-150 is old man frumpy and the refresh didn’t help that much.

Yeah, those corruptable executives certainly weren’t in place in a sensible foreign firm like VW, errr Nissan, errr Subaru. Oh dear.

If you hated General Motors’ Cadillac’s current infotainment system

The development and deployment of 48-volt electrical systems is more about powering the sheer onslaught of new technologies regulations and customer expectations are literally forcing on the auto makers. Things Advanced driver assist, autonomous driving, various forms of hybrid (since most car makers will not dive

Because everyone buying a 400 hp Camaro/Mustang/Porsche/whatev needs that much power and to drive 150 mph to starbucks? Has there ever been a legitimate need for the ludicrous mode in a Tesla? Why is it wrong to have a truck for occasional use but people dropping their kids off in 700 hp cars at daycare is fine? The

Yeah, but that’s got Shelby’s name on it. Old rich dudes will buy literally anything with a Shelby badge, and they’ll happily pay $39k over sticker for the privilege. “Syclone” doesn’t have near the Barrett-Jackson cred (at least not yet).

Now call it a “Yenko”, and they’ll start throwing their wallets at you.

The point wasnt to compare them as much as just show it is not that crazy a number.

‘Wouldn’t think this should be worth more than $62k total. So, maybe $25k for the conversion??? ... But hey, what do I know. Jeep just sold a bunch of Gladiators for that.

With a limited run of 100, I'm sure there's a bit of overhead baked into the per car price for the meetings that went on between the tuner and GM on how they would use the branding, what should be included, analysis on whether or not the truck would tear itself apart, etc. I bet it's amazing how much salary got burned

If they made it like old truck plank floors, but with CFRP boards, I would be pretty stoked.  Tough AND easily replaceable.
