Reliability as well.

Easily the four funniest posts in a row I’ve ever seen here.

They keep it the same so they can use all the same add ons and shelves internally the previous vehicle has and owner wants to re use.

Especially as useless as a 5.5’ bed on a full size truck is.

Ford stole the gm bodylines on the expy and Lincoln refreshes.

If you want to sell something in a specific market, sometimes you have to look like you belong in that market for the consumer to accept it.

Because bucketheads running around actually utilizing Max tow on a half ton these days are the norm.

There was an article recently where GM hinted they wanted to be out of the gate the same time as the ram and the interior suffered because of it. Also saying a new interior is in the works for ‘21.

I’m getting the impression most people don’t understand this isn’t true carbon fiber.

GM sold a composite bed in 2001, but ok.

Yes.

Kind of like “military grade aluminum”???

Have we seen any reviews of this thing off road? Or towing yet?

The article is certainly a great read about the work that needs to be done.

But Silverados are overkill in the design to pull 5000lbs.

Not only that, but if your designed to the maximum and said customer buys according to that (not a good strategy), what do you have 3-5 years from now when the system cooling efficiency starts to deteriorate?  How tight are they pulling the strings on this if the ZR2 gets de-rated based on cooling and they are using

Also,

It went away because people really stopped getting them that way.  You could get them all the way up to 2006 I believe, but how many do you actually see with them?

Which probably means you can’t even order it that way...

I wouldn’t bet the farm on that. The amount of weight in these current rigs, along with the fact very few companies build an engine much larger than 6.6l due to mileage constraints, makes me believe most basic trucks will come with the 6.2, and the lux trucks will be diesel.
