No, not really.
No, not really.
I’m a POC. And a cis LGBT man.
Jesus. Being called cis is offensive??
Which is why the vast majority of people choose to disclose.
I said it isn’t mandatory.
Fun fact: they don’t have to.
Trans people do not HAVE to disclose.
1. The burden of proof lies on you.
Ah, I see by other comments you’ve made you’re a narrow-minded, self-contradicting ass without a solid grasp of key concepts.
I read through the original article and couldn’t find confirmation of my suspicion, but I hiiiighly suspect the city official was not a white man.
Being a POC means the default is ‘be arrested’
So I see you’re deliberately ignoring the part where a city official came by to explain the situation to the police.
Exactly this.
My understanding is if you dare to say “I am not committing a crime” or “please let me explain before you arrest or shoot me” that’s resisting arrest.
I didn't check, but my suspicion is perhaps the city official was a POC themselves.
Soooooo
I think Ms. Cox is amazing, and a great role model. She cuts straight to the point, and the line about the stigma surrounding the existence of transwomen was very, very real.
As a skinny, awkward teenager, and into my early 20s - when accused of looking at a straight guy the ‘wrong way’ I would swear up and down that I wasn’t, I wouldn’t dare. Never made eye contact, made myself small and unthreatening. Usually got beaten regardless, feared for my life a few times.
Yes, this.
It’s really frustrating to see this bizarre narrative that a penis equals a man, equals being gay. Gender, attractiveness and desire are registered long before anyone knows what’s in the other person’s pants.
