The part about the unmuffled Volvo couldn't be more true. I always liked the Viper, but I could never really get into it because it's exhaust note is the antithesis a powerful sound.

This is brilliant. I agree entirely with this sentiment. I have my own wild dreams of getting an AWD BMW E34 wagon and swapping in the 3.0 I6 diesel from the 335d. "The dream car is really just a means of conveyance" — Couldn't have said it better myself.
