rofl, my huge wall o' text convinced you, eh?

I HAVE ALREADY LIKED THEN UN-LIKED THEN RE-LIKED ALL OF YOU WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT FROM ME *sobs*

I hereby promote you to officially unofficial Thread Mod for people who actually have the system in question.

You could do my (unpaid) job for me :D

And here I spent 10 minutes scratching my head and writing out a huge response, shucks.

A Time Machine backup and a clone are two very different things, and both with their unique advantages.

Do you have the boot order set up properly? Sounds like it's trying to read something unbootable. The BIOS should intelligently skim over anything without a bootloader, like blank hard drives and empty DVD drives, but USB can get it in a loop pretty easily. Check all USB ports and hubs for a residual flash drive or SD

Remove SleepEnabler, updates like a charm. Be sure to clone before this and every update though.

Have you used all 7 other SATA connections on the motherboard? Impressive.

We are neither shooting HD nor "Good editors". We are in high school film classes, shooting 3 minute videos on Canon GL2s. Most only adjust White Balance before beginning a shoot, if that.

I'm simply giving the poster advice for a "high school TV class", which I am also in. When dealing with Canon GL2's and about 20 minutes of standard def video it saves a lot of time, again, for a high school class.

Honestly, I can't stand the retina-etching sharpness of Windows XP's default anti-aliasing, or, more appropriately, the lack of it. It almost hurts to read. First thing I do when I sit down to a Windows XP machine is enable ClearType. Not as good as OS X or Vista/7, but it helps.

See my above reply.

My browser of choice on OS X, guess I'm weird.

double double post

If you have such an insatiable need to construct hackintosh's, perhaps you should educate yourself a little bit from the various resources online (InsanelyMac, various component-independent guides) so you're not reliant on KISS (no offense Adam) guides.

There's tons of ways to Log and Capture with Final Cut, but I like to just go for it and capture "Now" for the whole clip, then divide it up into subclips later from the Browser. My old film teacher (disliked) was an old timer and loved tapes, so he wanted us to set I/O points for every one of out clips in L&C, to

I got Icebird [itunes.apple.com] a while ago in a FreeAppaDay deal (normally $3.99), before I even had my iPhone, on a whim. It has more of a Tweetie look than Twitter.app, but has become my favorite client.

Ima be that guy and remind you that 51,200 kbps = approx. 50Mbps. I know you meant 51.2kbps, but still...

I find it amusing people need a guide to pass on a 2 lane road. If you know the road, go for it. If not, grin and bear it.
