I still love the timeless design. It really doesn’t look as dated as the Supras of any generation, and it had proper luxury and a V8 option. I would love to find the JZ engine with the 5 speed manual that hasn’t been molested by a teenager. A buddy of mine has the JDM imported Toyota Soarer version of this same car

I agree with David Tracy. That is very troubling.

For the record this actually happened in Legends of Tomorrow last season. A magical stuffed animal vs a demon voiced by John Noble, who actually appeared as himself to provide a voice recording to trick the above noted demon.

The DCCW is leagues better then the DCEU. Its like not even close, even bad seasons (and there are a fair few) are still watchable. Okay back six episodes of Supergirl 3 and the majority of Arrow 4 are GOD AWFUL and even makes Suicide Squad look good in comparison.

I think in the late 1970's when Donner was making the first two Superman movies, Lex Luthor still wasn’t a hypercompetent businessman. He was the mad, but highly intelligent scientist in a green and purple jumpsuit who pretty openly devised schemes to defeat Superman. The concept of Lex-as-a-businessman didn’t arrive

I did always think this was cool:

My biggest complaint regarding Superman in cinema is that nobody can really get Lex Luthor right. He should be a hypercompetent businessman who views Superman as a figure stealing his place as humankind’s absolute best, but both Donner and Singer chose to make him into a shady real estate baron.

I am also much more forgiving of this movie’s flaws than I should be. :)

This movie gets two things right. That plane rescue sequence and casting Brandon Routh. His turn as Ray Palmer in the Arrowverse shows he has exactly the right amount of “Aw, shucks” type charisma to play the Big Blue Boy Scout but the script and direction of Returns doesn’t let him show that.

2006 Posey pretty much was the avatar of ideal Lois Lane, which made Bosworth’s miscasting so much more apparent.

i remember watching this in the cinema and thinking “why the fuck isn’t Parker Posey playing Lois Lane”. She was perfect for the role instead of that kate actress.

That plane crash scene- holy SHIT, I’d forgotten how incredible that actually was.

The rest of the movie still had some nice grace notes: his flying through town making no noise other than the flapping of his cape (compared to the near-mandatory fwhooshing of other Supermen); his tearing round grabbing plummeters and dealing with the damage from Luthoria before he heads of to confront Lex; the

No, Man of Steel was Zach Snyder’s Objectivist power fantasy of an asshole who only seems to save people he personally cares about and is fine with dooming his own species to extinction by destroying the Kryptonian Baby Grapes, the only known means to repopulate the species, for no real reason.

Yeah, that plane rescue sequence is still thrilling. Superman just flying through debris, instead of dodging it, was a nice touch. What’s especially agonizing is how early in the film that is, and then it’s almost nothing after that. It never truly soars again. It’s a frustrating experience. I’d been hyped for the

Yep, that’s an E30 dash with some gauges where the radio was. So we’ve got Porsche, Chevy, Chrysler, and BMW parts in this thing.
