Cilantro and coriander are so heinous, it’s a taste I doubt I will ever grow to enjoy, even if I live to be older than the earth itself. I sometimes embarrass my friend when we go out for Mexican, because I will literally pick the cilantro off of my tacos and dump it in my plate.

I went through something similar when I moved in 2016. I’d been building my library for years, and I realized there was no way I could bring every single book with me, nor did I want to. So I did a “cull” and got rid of probably 30-40 in total (okay, I still have around 300-350 but still!)

I never actually noticed a change in my skin when I cut back on my soft drink consumption (in my 20's I used to drink roughly a can a day, and now I have one mini-can every 7-10 days, if that). Even after I cut back, my skin was still pretty problematic.

That’s probably not a bad idea - get it gone ASAP, so to speak. My mom was the exact opposite (of the “eat only one or two pieces now” school) and my candy would therefore last for weeks and weeks...I’m not saying that’s the reason why I have a crazy sweet tooth now, but yeah.

ITA, and I was coming here to say pretty much the same thing. I don’t know if it’s because I had finished watching The Good Place less than an hour earlier, but this definitely felt way too on-the-nose and almost trying too hard to be shocking and etc. Though I did find myself liking Miles (Myles?) Silverberg more th

Those gators must get 90% of their calories from those marshmallows, hahaha. I was there for four days in 2005 (roughly a month before Katrina), totally touristing the entire time, and on the second to last day I went on a swamp tour and remember being so baffled that gators ate marshmallows. I mean, I thought they

I’m currently using the untinted version of Clinique’s Superprimer and it’s...ok. I like Clinique products because they don’t exacerbate my adult acne, but sometimes they can be hit and miss. This primer is fine, but I still see most of my fine lines, so it’s not a holy grail product by any means. It’s good for

I tried Fenty as well (using a beauty blender too) and I totally agree, it dried so fast! Half the time I’d be racing to get it applied on my face before it dried on the back of my hand, hahaha. Overall I liked the product but found it too matte for my skin - I’m in my 40's and have started to get fine lines, and this

ITA with you, Martha.

I am right there with you, but unfortunately sometimes I can’t back out, or have no choice but to spend more than I’d want to. For example, this year I have 3 weddings to attend in 4 months - two are immediate family, and in one of them I’m also a bridesmaid. I was lucky enough to find some nice dresses on sale, but

I hadn’t thought of that! I’ll for sure try and find a store here that carries the line, other than Sephora anyway. It’s ridiculously expensive here in Canada ($140!) so I definitely want to try some before I spend that much money.

This, exactly. I’ve often treated friends, and have been happy to do so, but if they had ever started acting like this was something I had to keep doing, they wouldn’t have stayed my friend for long. (I honestly never cared if they reciprocated or not, just don’t treat me like I’m your own personal “free lunch”

Oh my...that Tata Harper moisturizer sounds like it’s my dream product. I’m in my early 40's but still get some breakouts, and yet my skin is combination to dry. I’ve been searching high and low for a “forever” cream, and this sounds perfect.

I’ll second what Breanna Edwards said. It costs a wee bit more to get reserved seats but it is so worth it. (Funnily enough, the last movie I did that for was this past Star Wars). No need to wait in massive lines, or fear getting stuck in the front row...just walk in and you’re good to go. Highly recommended!

I swear, I think a lot of people even forget that Africa is a continent, never mind know anything about its history. I went to Botswana in 2014 (towards the tail end of the Ebola outbreak) and I cannot even tell you how many of my friends / family made some kind of comment along the lines of “but...aren’t you worried

I’m visualizing it now...if you hand me a moist piece of cake I’ll thank you and maybe give you a hug, but if you use that word in pretty much any other scenario I’ll probably make a face.

This, exactly. I am Middle Eastern but also white as milk, so it often happens that white people will say things in front of me assuming that I am also a WASP / white. I’ve heard all kinds of racist comments, from towelheads to others that I won’t even type out here, and I have never just tried to excuse it by saying

I’ve read some similar comments and I laughed so hard I nearly wet myself. Talk-singing isn’t a thing! You can talk, and you can sing, and you can rap...she’s trying to rap, and doing a very poor job of it.

Same here! I have tried so many foundations that just never matched my skin tone; I must have spent at least a few thousand dollars since I started using makeup in my teen years. (My current one costs over $40 and I buy it at least 2-3 times a year, soooo...)

Full disclosure: I am a Jez reader and sometime commenter, and I honestly loved the “5 Becky’s” post ...I can’t remember the last post that I enjoyed more. Part of it is because I know a Beckeisha - she would lose her mind if I called her on her Beckeisha-ness - and because I recognize some Becca tendencies in myself
