Honestly? I’m still convinced that Rose “killed” Pink Diamond the same way that Darth Vader “betrayed and murdered” Luke’s father. My main sticking point is that they’re now trying to tell us that Rose originated on Earth, which doesn’t seem to fit with previously established information. (How could Pearl tell

My impression is that it’s not so much that the Crystal Gems never shattered anyone, but that it was generally a last resort or unintended collateral damage, whereas Bismuth’s weapon is made specifically to kill.

I don’t feel like it’s fair to call Bismuth “mad for power” or to say that she’s of a kind with Jasper. It’s not like she made a super weapon just for the hell of it. It was explicitly described as a reaction to Homeworld’s own tactics. Obviously Homeworld forces had no qualms about shattering their enemies – Garnet

She looks so good with the ponytail. I wish she would keep it as part of her new design; but I guess it would be harder to animate.

Maybe the movies were based on the game franchise!

Actually I think Pearl is supposed to be the one who's all about overcoming limitations through hard work and perseverance, and of course Steven has worked super hard as well. Amethyst's thing is that she doesn't want to work at all because she doesn't want to examine herself or be confronted by her own limitations.

In fairness, some of the Gems seem to have an odd assortment of powers. Like, why does Sapphire need ice, super speed, and flying along with clairvoyance?

"Outgoing FIST"?? Oh, okay, that makes a lot more sense than what I heard, which was "Outgoing FISH". ("Even my fish are dead!")

How would a Kindergarten technician help Amethyst?

I highly agree. At this point, killing off characters is a pretty lazy and cliched way to "raise the stakes". Not that it couldn't be done well, but I really don't think it aligns with the type of show the crew is trying to make.

We just had an episode where Rose happily sat and watched a baby climb up a ferris wheel just because he could. What on earth makes you think that she would be controlling enough to "slap humanity on the wrist” for pursuing things that could lead to their own destruction?

The fact that Sadie assumed that Steven meant "What is that mysterious object I've never seen before" and not "What am I about to watch" doesn't change the fact that he was watching Lonely Blade on VHS in a previous episode.

And he had no idea what a VHS player was and sought Sadie out because the Big Donut had the only one he'd ever seen
He was watching Lonely Blade on VHS in Steven the Swordfighter. I think he went to the Big Donut to watch his mom's tape because he was still grounded from TV at the time, so presumably his TV and VCR had

But do we really know that??

Hmm… I kinda saw it more as Gems being uncomfortable with anything that disrupts their ideas of what someone can be. Their society has a rigid hierarchy, where everyone has an assumed value based on how “high” or “low” they rank in it. A Gem who falls completely outside of that hierarchy would throw into question the

Every Gem that meets Garnet is able to tell right away that she's a Fusion, even without her removing her visor. The fact that Steven didn't know enough about Gems and fusion to guess what she was without her telling him does not necessarily indicate that she is able to disguise herself from those who do know.

Exactly. He lost his healing power in the first place because of a sudden loss of confidence in his abilities. It makes perfect sense that it would come back now that he's gaining so much confidence in his other abilities.

I heard that too! I thought I was imagining it.

"I have been ready for this day." Kofi's not kidding. He had the sign all made and waiting right by the window.

Also it occurs to me that the part where Pearl and Greg are lying down and facing opposite directions to that one part in the Utena opening with Utena and Anthy lying down in the garden.
