These comments are exhausting. I am an ER doctor working front lines seeing covid patients (while pregnant) wearing the same N95 mask for 5 straight days in a row. I also have friends and colleagues who had to put IVF cycles on hold because of Covid. You can recognize the frustration and heartache of that without

For the love of god, stop telling people to adopt. It not only betrays a complete lack of understanding of the ethical, emotional, bureaucratic, and financial costs of IVF vs. adoption, but it also demonizes a woman’s desire and choice to get pregnant. It is NOT okay to push the myth of adoption as the ultimate

Can we maybe not use this article to tell people who are struggling to get pregnant that they should “just adopt?”

So let me see if I understand what’s going on here. One of the biggest writing organisations in the world, in one of the most prolific and successful genres in publishing, is dealing with a microcosm case of the same industry-wide issue with white supremacy that has kept authors of colour fighting for years for

So. While reporting on a serious debate about racism & discrimination within the largest writer’s organization in the US - one with a majority female membership - where there’s about $3 mil on the line plus 40 years worth of industry connections & infrastructure, you decided to go flippant & condescending.

I was sexually assaulted during both high school and college. At both institutions, the school did nothing. That said, there are very good reasons for rape, assault, and harassment victims *not* wanting to go to the police. First, many rape victims describe the process as “like being raped again,” which is a little

Not much to add, just a Tolkien lover giving a shout out to all that LOTR above. If only Faramir was here, we'd see some justice.

“But it is a heavy burden. So heavy that none could lay it on another. I do not lay it on you. But if you take it freely, I will say that your choice is right; and though all the mighty elf-friends of old, Hador, and Húrin, and Túrin, and Beren himself were assembled together your seat should be among them.”

Narwhal the Magic Furry Unicorn Puppy wasn’t made that way for a reason—the congenital defect, as the same story notes, was likely the result of man-made toxins either in the environment or ingested by Narwhal the Unicorn Puppy’s mother.”

except it doesn’t say that, like, anywhere in the story alluded to. i know

Thank you for saying this. <3

I assume it’s not what you intended, but this take strikes me as ableist. You know who usually finds comfort and inspiration from a dog who is different? Children who are different. I don’t see why we want to shit on that.

Can I watch it on TV? Has it Keegan-Michael Key?

The ones that turn out to be humans with ill intent scare me far more than the ghosts. See: the farmhand one and the Cincinnati apartment one from recent years.

The scariest thing about the ouija board story is that a Chick Tract gained enough sentience to write it!

I started reading, got to the line where the first poster described herself as “a toe headed little girl” and was completely thrown out of the story entirely because I cannot picture anything but a toe wearing kid’s clothing.

I mean, I guess that’s scary, but.....

Would someone kindly contact the veterinary clinic and let them know this internet rando says they’re doing it wrong?

Um... “Toe head” brings a very different (and much more hilarious) picture than does a “towhead.” Likewise “heard animal” and “herd animal.”

Dear AV Club and all the Gizmodo sites,

I am begging you please to stop with the auto-play videos with sound. I have no idea how this is supposed to drive clicks or engagement or whatever when I can’t even see what’s making noise.

Idk maybe because the South is home to a ton of POC, LGBT people, and women who don’t have the resources (or the desire, in many cases) to pick up their whole lives and move?
