That sort of things depend upon the writer/ artist relationship more than anything.

If a writer fully trusts the instincts of their artist they can get away with, “Batman swings in. He kicks The Joker in the face.” If the artist is willing to put their ego aside they will follow very detailed panel descriptions like

I wonder how you get around to “writing” something like this issue. Do you visualize it first? Do you work side by side with the artist? It's so built on not only basics but the classic comics sound effects that I would imagine it would require a LOT of spatial and sound imagination. Fascinating to me.

It’s pretty clear in retrospect that Torrance was a stand-in for author Stephen King, a way of exorcising a lot of his anger from his time as a poverty-stricken teacher with a young child that he wasn’t prepared to raise. (And his own personal struggles with alcoholism, as well.) That, I think, is why King hated the

And he was right.

While the movie version of The Shining is undoubtedly a cultural touchstone and important in innumerable ways, I do much prefer the book because while it never lets Jack Torrance off the hook for his horrible behavior towards his wife and son, it also paints what, to me, is a very believable portrait of a man

I don’t know what’s more disturbing: the concentration of so much intellectual property in the hands of a company that actively fights the notion of public domain, or the gibbering fanboys hoping this means they’ll get a chance to give them more money for yet another release of Star Wars.

And then Mickey goes “snap” and half the Netflix streaming library disappears.

Anti-trust laws don’t mean shit when Republicans are in charge of enforcing them.

DAMMIT.

Guys, Tom Happ is a super nice guy. I’ve met him a couple times at conventions, I’ve seen the documentary (very good btw) about Axiom Verge, and I’ve purchased the game six times now for various systems and as gifts because I love everything about it.

This dude has been fucked over, and fucked over, and fucked

The term for this is “stochastic terrorism” - fanning intolerance and hinting at violence toward a group without ever providing specifics that could legally tie you to the resulting violence.

I know you’re not making a good faith argument, but I’m going to answer earnestly, as if you were.

I CAN’T FUCKING WAIT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One interesting thing to me here- there is ZERO hint of the antagonist here at all. No Thanos. No surviving Black Order members (if there were any- it sure didn’t look like it). No outriders or Chitauri. That’s interesting.

*Gasp* Is that Disasterpiece? Do I hear another Disasterpiece soundtrack in there? It sounds kind of like Disasterpiece, which I want it to be. Disasterpiece soundtracks are good and I want them.

The anime is not really the best way to digest One Piece as it tries to be 1 chapter per episode which can be really sluggish to watch. Read the manga and catch the episodes that animate the sections that you read and liked.

My favorite part of the whole movie: “I have nothing to prove to you.”

The joke’s on him when he has to reflect on the horror’s he’s participated in and tries to escape with his son by flying away only to have his son perish when his wings melt and he falls into the ocean.

The scientist I spoke with did use the term “killer whale,” and so did NOAA. “Orca” is fine though, too! It’s all love here for the orcas/whales.

Do scientists still call them killer whales? I thought they were widely called orcas now. Are the two terms used interchangeably? I was under the impression that "killer whale" was being phased out because it fostered a negative idea.
