I watched it and my takeaway was pretty much: someone wrote a crossover fanfic where Izzy from Grey’s Anatomy and Gus from Psych are lawyers and put it on CBS.

As much as the person handing out the envelope set this into motion, why did none of these adults just say, “oh I think we have the wrong card?” That would have saved a lot of embarrassment.

I think Beatty realized it was wrong, was trying to show it to Dunnaway to confirm, and instead she thought he was giving her the opportunity to read it. She didn’t realize what was going on because of course at the Oscars you expect them to not give you the wrong card.

This just occurred to me: I’m going to buy whiteboard paint, paint it onto foam board, and use dry-erase markers for signs. Then I can reuse the signs.
