You can’t hit anybody if you can’t reach them.
You can’t hit anybody if you can’t reach them.
A more effective plane still has to reach the target before it can carry out its job. At this point in time the carrier group has to be in range of most of the current anti-ship systems in order to engage a target. Which makes it a very easy target in a counter attack or even preemptive strike.
You are such a special kind of fail, that isn’t how any of this works.
How do you read that last paragraph and come away thinking the author believes they are a legitamite news source?
Ummm, that was the point of his argument. We didn’t want to crater the runway - that would have been a real move to disable the airfield. As is, we launched some missiles and blew up stuff that is less essential to airfield operation. Political posturing, not tactical action.
Sure, because this administration has a long and well-documented history of consulting experts and making well-advised decisions.
Do you not think it’s valuable to pay attention to the response of propaganda machines that have substantial penetration into our own media? Did people star your first comment without reading the post?
Because there’s literally no other sources reporting anything different.
I often bring up Breitbart in my writing, and I don’t consider them legitimate by any journalistic standard. Anyway, it’s always good to report what multiple sides think, if only just for making sure you aren’t creating an echo chamber. In this case the Russians are claiming less bombs hit their target than other…
How did he legitimize them with that? He stated that Russia is telling its constituents a different story than what we’re being told but does not come to a conclusion one way or the other about who is accurate. Simply that they’re reporting something different. I’d prefer another party confirming but the only people…
Because it’s relevant to see what Russian media says about the strike (propaganda or not). It certainly doesn’t read like an endorsement to me.
The U.S. Navy has launched 59 Tomahawk Land Attack Missiles at a Syrian military airfield Thursday night, in…
Hey great article, you joining Foxtrot Alpha as a regular writer?
Good article. I like the lack of political angle. Refreshing change of pace.
Darn good again Gary
Wait, you’re in the gray on your own article?
The reason I used “American blood” is simply because the article was focusing on the issues the Marines are having with their aviation community, and the price that has been paid by Harrier pilots in particular to get the jet to where it is now. By no means is it an attempt to exclude the lives of RAF pilots who…
I fucking love this plane, best plane I ever worked on, and the unit’s culture is fantastic. 755AMXS 2012-2016
This is a very well researched and well written article, something that is sorely missing from FA, these days, especially since Tyler left. Thanks for bringing attention to this aircraft, Gary. As someone with a lot of knowledge about SIGINT, I didn’t even know this aircraft existed! Hopefully, we’ll see more great…
FFS, Carl Vinson was alive when they decided to name a Carrier after him. Here’s a neat pic of Nixon, SECDEF, and SECNAVY showing him a model of the carrier.
