I do like the concept of its use, though, Sir. What was the standard back in my day during the late ‘80s...the LN-66?

“...I miss those days...”
One of the truly great qualities of the Viking after she had been converted to the tanker mission (a mission that we accepted and performed seamlessly when we transitioned to the “B” model of the S-3) was the ability to perform her primary mission (ASW/ASuW) while tanking the outbound strike aircraft just after launch.
Well said...thank you for taking the time, Gary, to respond to your reader’s comments...
“...are you here to stay?”...Listen up, Wetzel!
Gotta give ‘em credit...it would save money on ASW sensors...
Good luck with school...and keep those welds tight for our submariners.
@SLOCUSFOCUS...you generally hear this in relation to vets, but I want to thank you for your service...and for building our warships.
Proximity to one another, purpose, mission and environment seems to have an effect on a group like submariners or Special Forces.
Jesus! I was an AW flying in the Viking. Never worked with a 585 boat but plenty of work with 637 and a couple of 688.
Just missed you...was with VS-24 for TR’s first Med and left just before she sailed for Desert Storm. Was an AW in the Viking.
r1teway...did you serve on any other class of subs? If so, what did you think of the 585 boats compared to the other(s)?
D...what years were you on Pargo and the TR?
BTW, what you’ve known about Tyler has been confirmed by what I see, day in and out over there.
Not sure how I missed this...and it ‘splains why you ain’t over at “The War Zone”...lol!
I’m not sure you would understand, but I deeply regret that I was not born under the science “star.” I have no aptitude for it...but I have the capacity to know that I wish I had.
