Rolling Coal.
Rolling Coal.
Well we’re in the second Cold War (the Russians openly admit it but we’re not) so It’s expected those kind of war games are gonna be more numerous. Also Spain and B52s met in the past but it ended poorly.
Exactly, we don’t need B-21 RIGHT NOW.
I have zero faith in the pentagons ability to not turn this into a cluster fuck.
I’m all for cool planes and stuff (former Air Force), but jesus, STOP SPENDING SO MUCH MONEY ON THIS SHIT! Spend it somewhere else if you absolutely have to! We don’t NEED another damn plane right now.
Man, that poor PO.
I spent 4 years on SSN709 and there was always one or 2 officers who would get dirty when the job called for it. I assume as with all things shit rolls down hill and the lowest grade officers get the cleaning done but man 35 people... just doesn’t seem like enough. The moment something goes down or something goes…
I was surprised to see MH-60 pilots sweeping hangar floors during a documentary about the LCS classes. Even the captain was polishing brass, but in all likelihood that was mostly for the camera.
Cold war again, and the USA will bankrupt them, again!
No reason not to believe it. It could be that since the Yasen Class is very expensive, the Alfas may be the most cost effective route. They are not the most silent subs by any means, but can compensate for that with speed and diving depth.
It is possible that way speed could overcome the need to stay silent during some parts of some missions, and it may be a way to undermine emerging submarine tracking technologies.
What it means is a new-built boat based on the design of the Alfa class, because all of the remaining Alfas were sold for scrapping (meaning, they are rusting near Murmansk).
I’m thinking that they’re not likely to refurbish the original boats at all, and instead just go for new construction based on the design. Although I have no idea how they’d afford it.
Russia’s Alfa Class fast attack submarine was the SR-71 of the undersea world during the Cold War. The Alfas were…
Replacing the A-10 with the F-35 would have been like replacing the A-1 Skyraider with the F-102, a fucking disaster.
The answer is history. It comes from the battle in Guadalcanal, when the Marines were fighting the Japanese, the Navy decided to cut and run and left the Marines stranded without support especially air support. For that, many Marines died and from that point forward the Marines said that it will never happen again,…
I hate the USAF.
The SAC days are over—the USAF is not the tip of the spear anymore. It must accept that it, like the Navy, is a means to get the Army and Marines to where they're going to fight and support that fight Repeat, support them.
Ah, you reminded me of one of my favorite pictures that I’ve seen floating around here/reddit/et al.
I’m always glad to make others happy.
