Great, great video! Thanks for finding it.

Loved that airplane!

This is the inside of one (naval version):

He was also the first US president to submerge in a sub, the USS Plunger (SS2).

Great catch...a ballsy hero of a man.

Must have seemed an amazing relic at that point (despite being less than 30 years old).

The sound! That is what I miss...Had a B-24 fly over my apartment twice the other day and it was pure music compared to the boring jet and civil prop noise.

What an amazing aircraft, particularly the EC-121, which kept a host of pilots safe from Migs.

Pine on, please!

If you’re referring to the XB-30, the program...as you should know, was cancelled. (However, I’m sure the Connie would have made an exceptional long range bomber considering the longevity of the transport/AEW/etc. exemplified by this extant example...the original Lockheed has a magnificent manufacturing record).

The USS Carl Vinson (CVN-70) was the last Nimitz class boat to have a “bridle catcher” and had it removed during one of her refits.

No kidding!

Good eye....per Wiki article (which has very little info):

Will do!

Strange contraption, the Huskie. Saw one laying foam once back in the early ‘70s before they were retired.

Oh...and my apologies for the vomiting.

Very cool...thanks.

Lol!...has to be the ugliest flying machine...

Am I correct to assume that the same principle applies to the USAF’s ol’ HH-43 Huskie?
