Yeah, after reading this thread I agree completely.

I’ve said this before, but I don’t really blame the actor for that: His dialogue is so stupid that I think he’s just trying to do something to make the character less of a cartoon.

You hit the nail on the head. He is so cartoonish that it defies credibility. And then, randomly! he decides not to punish the kid who tried to kill him. Just for funsies. It makes no sense.

Jesus was up on the roof of that truck all day and nobody noticed him... even though it was parked next to the gigantic 20-story factory building everyone lives in. Nobody looked out the window and said “Hey, who’s that guy on top of the supply truck?”.

My hot taek on Negan:

I finished watching Westworld (also 90 minutes) and realized that my DVR was still recording the Walking Dead at 9:30 (CST), and even though I live alone, I audibly said, “you’ve got to be fucking kidding me.”

Maybe Negan’s not doing it intentionally...

Killing Negan is not a dumb idea at all. Look at his “army” - which only seems to represent a small “elite” portion of the people he has working for him. Those chumps are abject followers. There is not a single one of them capable of taking his place. If there were, they would have by now.

Please tell me I’m not the only one who understands that there’s no way such a cruel, oppressive, dictatorship (like Negan has) would last in reality?

I think it’s really ambiguous who could have left it. Coulda been Dwight in some kind of weird rebellion over Negan’s shenanigans, or Sherry, or Jesus. I’ll give half a point for the effort at intrigue.

TWD is the Anne Rice of shows. It needs to stop trying to be cute and get a grownup in there to be a decent editor. I mean, I get it because I’m a writer and sometimes think all my musings are important to the intended audience—but that’s why I have people around me who call BS on that.

Honestly , dont’t know why that episode needed to be 90 minutes long . It’s not like they had a lot of material. Also, considering how many people hate Negan , I don’t get how he can just walk around casually with little to no protection.

The plans to assassinate Negan are not so deeply dumb. He has already repeatedly walked around exposed to an attack. It’s almost part of his power-trip schtick. So killing him is doable. Also, the Saviors have shown no indication they would function well without Negan. There is no known succession plan. We’ve seen no…
