I actually like Turbonegro.
YES
I may not have been the only person to think of this. I may have seen that comic a long time ago and the idea stuck.
Deep down, I think we are all ass-bitches.
I would absolutely go to see Super Negro Thugs play live.
That just happened. That sentence was A Thing That Was Said.
This is My Favourite Thing.
Realtalk: This entire line looks like utter shit.
I am Jack's sense of surprise and delight.
I was thinking the same thing. Especially since things like tumblr often have very little moderation. Shit like that can turn up on your screen. I was even kinda ready to sympathise with Grisham when I clicked on the article. It really is possible in certain circumstances. But he isn't describing those circumstances.…
For someone who claims to be an academic, your reading comprehension is pretty terrible. You threw out a made up statistic and then showed that you didn't actually read the thing you are arguing against in the same sentence.
That's nice. They can support her all they want. It doesn't change the fact that she begins with a narrative and then finds things to fit it. The fact that her narrative is one that academics, or even I agree with doesn't make her a good academic.
I don't understand what you are getting at... I read a lot of things about a lot of things?

She positions herself as an academic, so I think it's not too much to ask that her research be a little more rigorous than what she has presented in the past. There are plenty of examples to put her point across, but she uses examples that don't fit well because near enough is good enough.
This just makes me kind of purse my lips and shrug. I honestly wish I could dredge up more emotion about this but it's just gone so far at this point. I need to drink All The Booze and watch some old kaiju movies or something.
I find that strangely interesting. The fact that I don't find this whole thing horrifying just goes to show how normalised the whole thing has become.
Great post for a great outcome. Your articles are getting better all the time, Kat.
