I think there is a bit of a disconnect in these sorts of statistics. If consenting adults wish to participate in or consume media that depicts other consenting adults participating in roleplay that others feel is unsavoury, then there is no reason why they shouldn't.

I know it was an offhand comment and only tangentially related to the article as a whole, but Suckerpunch was an amazing movie. It might not have succeeded in everything it tried to do, but the fact that it tried makes it worthy of a lot more praise and a lot less criticism than it gets.
