Gone Home is an incredible game, and I whole heartedly encourage people to go in with an open mind, and just engage with the story. It’s well worth it.

I’m glad they are taking extra time to get things right. That works out a lot of times. There are of course two really, really famous exceptions. On the upside, at least the awful mess that was Daikatana, people ended up making a sex tape kind of song using ingame dialog. Still makes me laugh.
