@ChiltonGaines: Wealthy Gadabout: It is sometimes used as a synonym for a mistake, but I think that's just a common misuse, especially considering that it implies almost the opposite of the original meaning. For example, in this case, you were saying that Brian made a simple oversight with the underlying implication

@Dalai-Lama: I always have mind-bendingly awful experiences with customer service on the phone, despite the fact that I try to be as polite and clear as possible. It always seems like things should be so straight-forward and easy, but then end up feeling like we're trying to cure cancer or something. I can't help

@ryoshi: I like to knit with bamboo needles. While they are super nice, I find that as they get used a lot, they get a bit worn and the yarn starts to snag a little here and there, so just keep an eye on it to make sure that the tip stays smooth and it's not scratching your screen.

@EderC: I have the same thing happen if I play a game a lot over the course of a few days. I also have experienced a weird thing where my brain starts narrating my life after I've been reading too much.

@DocSeuss: I get what you're saying, but establishing multiplayer as DLC is an unconventional thing. I think most gamers consider multiplayer modes to be part of the main game experience. It is a fine line, because they do want the DLC to be a strong incentive, but at the same time, if it's perceived that they are

@DocSeuss: That makes more sense. On one hand, buying one game and passing it around effectively lets multiple people play it for one price, but that does go along with the concept of ownership. I can also lend books, DVDs, my car, my computer, my lawnmower, anything that is legally mine. The key is, when I lend it, I

@DocSeuss: So... you're trying to let a person who hasn't paid play a full copy of the game?

@aceofcakes: Sadly, people do pay $55 for used games, that's why Gamestop charges that ridiculous price. I don't understand how someone could care about saving money enough to buy used, but then partake in such a ripoff, but that's how Gamestop has made most of its money.

@Wacko: Looks like it hasn't even been released yet, but I'll definitely keep an eye on it. Thanks for the heads up.

@Shadead: I agree that it's pointless to point fingers and try to label everything as racist or not, but intent isn't the only thing that matters. Someone can be unintentionally offensive, and while that doesn't make them bad people, the decent thing to do in that case it to learn from it. That seems to be what Capcom

@resonance462: I got that same tape. It completely sold me! At 10, I was no match for the infomercial-style marketing. It worked out though because DKC is one of my favorite games ever!

@mfaulken: I did too. I've never pre-ordered a game that I was this unsure about, but the $20 really tipped me over, especially since Nintendo games take forever to go down in price.

@Vanderblade: First off, for people like me who always buy games new (unless they are no longer being released), only sell what I don't like, sell directly to maximize profit, and recycle 100% of that money into the purchase of new games, I feel that the argument that used=destroying the industry is short sighted.

@ColdFury: I did. I have to say that I disagree with the assertion that buying a used game is akin to pirating.

I think that this is a good way of handling the issue. Different cultures have different sensitivities to certain imagery, and so it makes sense to collaborate for international releases.

@Quest: Yeah, I'm pretty psyched about it, though the content hasn't really caught up yet. It will get there though. I think that this is a sign that the Mac is finally being taken seriously as a gaming platform, not in the sense of rivaling the PC (it doesn't), but in the sense that people who have macs want to be

@RGMVX: I'll have to check that out. The Trilogy is currently residing in my pile of shame, but I really need to get on playing it. The 2D metroid games are some of my favorite games of all time.

@DivergentRunoff: My partner is doing that now. It sounds like you have the right idea. Treat it like a "work" day and just stay on campus and get the work done. My partner purposefully schedules the classes with large gaps so that she's forced to be on campus all day.
