Also typical of Fincher is its exceptionally evocative opening credit sequence. 

Movie aside (which I rather liked), it has one of the greatest, most propulsive teaser trailers of all time:

The scene keeps going, and I think people are lulled by the afterglow of seeing this wish fulfillment into forgetting the other half of the scene deconstructing what set it up.
