I feel like she might be trying to be sarcastic/ironic. I don't know. Maybe? The site is pretty funny and snarky and I don't get where anyone would think that Jezebel of all places is fatphobic.

I remember Mode! I was really sad when it went away.

Thanks for the link. It's been a while since I check their stuff out so I missed the US store.

And isn't just shocking that those tops are always on some 75% off rack in the back of the store? You'd think they'd learn something, but no. They just keep making more and more of those god awful shirts.

I would love to see a real plus size model burst onto the scene. Not a size 8 working as "plus size."

Huh. Interesting. I knew it was an issue for petite sizes, but I don't see nearly as much of it when I browse the straight size section. Maybe it's just perception. Or maybe it seems like there is more in plus sizes because there is a smaller selection to choose from.

Don't feel bad - my mom just buys me clothes that are way too small. I've learned to just laugh.

Don't remind me! What I've always wanted on my boobs are giant butterfly wings. With sparkles!

Have things gotten at all better since then?

Me too! I also wish they had to deal with irregular sizing, and pants that don't come in lengths.

HA! I also think those shirts should come with a warning label - "Do NOT wear this item of clothing IN Paris! They will mock you!"

Don't they ship out of the UK, though? I'm always nervous about ordering clothes from overseas because of the extremely high cost of shipping and the difficulty of returns. Not to mention, I'm shaky on their sizing.

They used to have some really cool stuff. The quality and style have really deteriorated, though.

Oh god yes I hate Torrid with a burning passion. When the first hit the scene, they actually had some really cool stuff, but over the years the quality has deteriorated tremendously and now that I am a grown woman I can't even contemplate wearing their clothes.

I said this to another poster already, but in case you didn't see it: I swear by Old Navy's plus size jeans. They work really well if you are apple shaped and pine for the days of low rise boot cut jeans. I love them and practically live in them. They are basic denim, not too much stretch crap, they hit in the right

You know, it's kind of strange, but I swear by Old Navy's plus size jeans. They work really well if you are apple shaped and pine for the days of low rise boot cut jeans. I love them and practically live in them. They are basic denim, not too much stretch crap, they hit in the right place, there is none of this

Maybe it's a secret way to force to act as beacons so that everyone will know a fat woman is coming. Like, "Look out here come sparkles on a t-shirt! A fatty McFatfat is heading this way! Duck for cover!"

It hates us all.

Thanks for the rec! Looks like a huge site with plenty to check out. :)

I can not tell you how many cute tops I have had to pass up because they took a pretty cool graphic on nice cotton fabric and ruined it with fucking glitter.
