It was in Dallas for the region, there were (it seems like now) thousands of kids auditioning. We signed in, got a call time, showed up with a group of about twenty, and they ran through the choreo. Then they did singing and some dancing/gymnastics. They went around and tapped people on their shoulders, and if they

Who says you have to be able to sing to star in a musical movie? -cough- Russel Crowe -cough-

Yes. I auditioned for the touring company, and the audition was singing, dancing, and gymnastics. I didn't get picked. :(

Yes. It is like the domestic violence video we have to watch every year at my job. Exactly. Like, she could be reading from the script. It is so sad.

Where to you think the rescues come from, pray tell?

He went to live with the shelter owner on her large piece of land. My sister got all the surgeries done (thank GOD for Banfield pet insurance) and nursed him back to health. She and her husband were still in grad school, and really didn't have the time or resources to continue to take care of a dog with such health

After my grandmother had been married to my grandfather for six months, she went to her mother and said that she had made a terrible mistake and needed out. Nope, said great g-ma. You're in it.

Ah yes, working terriers... not the docile lap dogs you think they'd be when you look at them.

To be completely honest, I've had similar ideas. However, can you IMAGINE the screaming from the right wing? You think gun control is bad, imagine how nutso they'd go over DOGS.

What a cutie!

"I was at Starbucks on my Mac, and he was across the street at Starbucks on his Mac..."

I certainly agree with your last two sentences, but how to you propose we solve the problem? At least good (note, GOOD AND REPUTABLE) breeders do not over-breed and try their hardest to make sure their puppies go to good homes.

One of my coworkers rescued a Blue Tick Healer who's idiot original owner had purchased him to be a hunting dog. If you know anything about those dogs, they have to be trained very gently, are extremely sensitive in temperament, and hate loud noises. The dog has a nice life now out in the country, but the poor thing

Yeah. And yet, my sister got a rescue mutt from a shelter that had hip dysplasia so severe it had to have a double hip replacement at a year and a half to stay alive. I like to relay this story when people blame bad health issues on breeders.

Why does breed matter? Are you kidding me? Don't you think that a dog deserves to go to the home best suited for it? Do you really think someone who wants a dog that will jog with them every day and be super athletic should get a basset hound just because it's cute and needs a home?

So if no one gets to breed dogs, how are we supposed to have dogs?

No. Breeders are not evil. Irresponsible and negligent breeders are bad people, but not all breeders are irresponsible and negligent. Many, many breeders are very selective about the dogs they breed, will not allow a bitch to breed more than is healthy, and they also tend to be VERY active in rescue. It's just as

And on to the ALL BREEDERS ARE EEEEVVIIILLLL comments in 5... 4... 3... 2....

I think they're just fucking with us at this point.

My mom was previously a life-long bleach/frosted blonde. She has recently let her hair go gray, and I have to admit that it kind of rocks. I love it.
