No Blanket, you can't! WE NEED PEOPLE LIKE YOU.

A thousand times this. I'm also a proud Texan, but recognize that our elected officials are batshit insane on 95% of the issues. Love the state, hate the gerrymandered power structure.

I really want to believe in the "Pending Blue Texas" hypothesis, but I'm having a tough time buying it. All the liberals are mushed into cities and that is a structural disadvantage.

I mean, the man had a hell of a point and it right to be done with all the fuckery, but someone from Florida calling anyone crazy is definitely the pot talking to the kettle. My STATE isn't crazy, it's amazing. Its leaders that are elected because young people are too lazy to vote and others are disenfranchised

In 2004 we tried this "tax holiday" for corporations and that $300MM Rand Paul claims was new capital wasn't used for job creation or domestic investment, it was used for stock buybacks. Back then the GOP also claimed it would be used for infrastructure. Rand Paul is positively lacking in basic facts or a remedial

Also Old Navy stuff is great! And recently I got a couple work out shirts from H&M that are pretty nice, cool colors/patterns, and they're $9.99.

I have met "Oceans" (in Vancouver, naturally) and I think by 32 they usually don't want to be "Ocean" any more. But that could just be my little sample size.

It seems like he knows anti-vax sentiments are stupid, but for political reasons he doesn't want to alienate ANYONE with the 2016 election coming up.

You are a treasure, and Jezebel is a dimmer star for the loss of you. I will miss your brand of Southern charm / kind snark, but I wish you the best at Cosmo. *sniff*

NOOOOOOOOOOO!

Goodbye and good luck. I appreciated your attention to Texas matters!

If there's one thing more tedious than pedants, it's incorrect pedants.

"Shutter" is a perfectly normal word choice in this context. Perhaps you don't read very much.

To those people:

Well, I didn't place the well-being of all LGBT+ Alabamans on her shoulder. And I wasn't so much condescending as asking her to realise that the kind of activism she is used to as an someone outside the political system doesn't work as a member of the legislature. I wish it did, but it doesn't.

I'm well aware we have emotions, thanks. Like I said, I agree with her sentiments, just disagree with her tactics.

Thank you for this. Tears, streaming down my face. I don't know if it's PMS or what, but this just tugged at my heartstrings. <3

Circa 2002? Maybe 2003.

I was the Room Service Coordinator at a casino in Atlantic City, NJ. My job consisted of taking orders via phone, creating the checks, assigning servers, and closing the checks. Room service also handled all the amenities for the shows, so I've been on the phone with an assortment of
