Fourth Gear: It isn’t “only if you can overlook other flaws”. I really hate to be the bearer of badnews here, but other than basic build quality (which if it isn’t literally breaking, doesn’t impact your daily use of the vehicle), other automakers haven’t been having much of a better time with recalls, battery issues

You misunderstood my comment. I called out the active aero (aka vacuum traction) making the launch clean. Those ‘2000' bhp EVs also don’t generally put down a tiny fraction of that from launch. Plaid can’t hit 1k bhp ‘till after 60 mph, and is traction limited all the way up there. Clearly based on the acceleration,

It’s really interesting how much wider the ID.R looks by comparison. Seems like a perfect run with that car is probably close to the same time or just a tiny bit slower (given the errors in the 39.9), but the active aero makes that McMurty launch so cleanly it’s insane. Absolutely phenomenal how perfect the launch is

Plastics are not called plastic for nothing. Depending on the fiber fill content (even as much as 30-50%), the deformation past uts is quite substantial. Particularly if it is already loaded (and thus heating from damping).

Bought a 2018 FFH CPO with 30k miles in 2020 for 13k (new after incentive around 23k).

Beautiful exterior color, awful interior. Should just be the classic browns tbh. (And believe it or not, I am a millennial not an old man). But for 40k... Might not be that far away from reupholster work anyways to make that how you want. The red dash is what bugs me the most.

3900 lbs, so not that light (according to motortrend). And the battery wouldn’t weigh that much either. Tesla’s watercooled 100kWh battery for the Plaid still weighs only 1200 lbs, and you really would expect this to be at least as good given aircooled and plastic topped.

That spin was just.... sploosh

Thing is, Hamilton *was* faster than George and not by a small amount throughout the race. Hamilton got unlucky on literally every single yellow timing this race (and last), and George got quite exceptionally fortunate in timing and he even said as much. End of the day things happen, but there isn’t a driver on the

Extremely selfishtake here... but I’m not exactly looking forward to when the shitshow that is EA includes Superchargers... I really struggle to believe that Tesla will maintain the same level of control/integration, and likewise the availability in key areas is already getting strained by the number of vehicles

That and the US heavily subsidizes ethanol (and to a lesser extent gasoline itself) production which shows up in pricing.

I did see the /s, but it is a serious issue that scotus views the bar for anti-trust actions as so ludicrously high that protections are basically meaningless in the US unless you are a union, in which case, get wrecked. Predatory pricing (Amazon is such a good modern example) systems are rather common, and

It is counter intuitive but rather straightforward... Gas stations (themselves) don’t make their money on gas, they make money on the products inside. That 2 dollar soda costs them 30 cents. If a company is willing to make gas a loss leader, (and it doesn’t need to be a big loss given the perception value of gas

I likewise would love to hear a technical discussion as to why this is the case. If I had to speculate, I would suggest that similar to how ethanol is a lubricant to some plastics and a solvent to others, whatever chemical formulation in the indy slicks (which presumably are stiffer creations to handle higher wear and

I think most telling of actual actions was changing verbiage in the regulation that every single person outside of Massi knew to mean one thing to confirm it did in fact mean *all*.

This is more or less correct, and why no other tire company wants to be part of it. They want to show their best, not some fake crap version. With that being said, most of the abject failures were blatant Perelli issues and it has be held responsible for the missed estimates and warningless explosions in recent years.

First, this includes Autopilot which is not ‘FSD’, it is the included driver aids with all cars telsa sells. Second even before Tesla removed the use of the non-camera sensors, phantom braking was an issue on my Model Y (and all other Tesla’s I’ve driven). Somehow some people in Cali or whatever don’t seem to have

It’s really horrifying that the MY is now 65k... I paid 51 (with tow package) for mine in 2020. At that time MY was 4k more than M3 which was a no-brainer. Today though the price gap is huge, and the improvements since then to the 3 are pretty legitimate to recommend as the better dynamic (and comfort) option.

With electrical systems *at least* 48V. High Voltage hybrids, and plug ins likewise make that rollaway start stop just... beautifully smooth due to their inline motors.
