It’s quite telling that the reason was money, not that they barely had enough plot for the first film.

I remember not being high when I saw Pineapple Express and being kind of sad that the entire movie is about people who just wish they had real friends. Such a simple relatable crux, but realllllly hammered into the ground over and over.  I really should have watched it high.
