I think they were talking about pre-touchscreen Sensus.
I think they were talking about pre-touchscreen Sensus.
Pre-touchscreen Volvos used the power button for mute, short press to mute whatever’s playing and long press to turn off the whole system.
Hah, fair. I just can’t get over the rest of the body looking like generic muscle car like what RandomUsername3246 points out, and the rear is fugly as hell IMO.
God the M8 is gorgeous.
I just don’t see why I need to be pointing at something while going 60 mph down the road. I much prefer a knob because then it toggles me through all the options that are available. Every time I use the Lexus system I end up pointing and clicking at nothing at all because I’ve landed between the icons. It’s…
Lots of ugly cars here, especially BMWs and Toyotas, but I have a dark horse nomination: the Q5 Sportback. Now the usual Audi Q5 is no looker but it’s fine in that generic Audi way. The Sportback just looks like a chubby tumor.
They’re not even that bad compared to the new one:
Or Audi. The Q5 Sportback is an affront to anyone with eyes. It’s really awful.
Polestar, the Pontiac of Volvo.
Oh, interesting. Considering most SRXs had the 3.6 I figured this would be the same. Are the 2.8s more reliable or just better performing?
This is a GM Opel thingie.
I would take that Porsche immediately over the 9-4x. I don’t want a pre-2012 High Feature V6 regardless of what it comes in.
I think Subarus and the FWD Volvos suffer survivorship bias, i.e. owners are fond enough of them that a major several grand repair isn’t enough to take them off the road. After all, longevity is largely a condition of decent maintenance, unless it’s a Prius or ‘90s GM product.
Idk, I consider ‘modern’ to be ‘has an ECU and OBD II’ which makes up about half the list. Once you get to the GDI and touchscreen era all bets on durability go out the window.
Idk, they’ve always been a bit...odd. Certainly not as clean or cohesive as a Golf.
Sure, but you can’t claim that wide-open six lane roads in residential neighborhoods aren’t part of the problem. When you have to devote all your attention to driving lest you run over a moped you’re less likely to become numb to the activity and start multitasking.
Impreza is fugly too, but at least it’s simple and useful. To be fair Impreza hatches have always been fugly.
No one’s calling it safe, we’re just calling it like it is. I see that shit every day on the freeway (and off) because people here have been so conditioned to think that ‘nothing bad could ever happen to me’. I’m not saying U.S. roads should be as dense and chaotic as those in other countries, but our increasingly…
This. My decade-old Volvo even has the ability to turn off interior lights that are intentionally left on. I’ve never had to jump start it.
That does not look intuitive. It looks like you’re pulling off a piece of plastic trim that was never secured properly from the factory. If it were labeled ‘door release’ or painted a different color maybe it’d be intuitive.
