This gen Scirocco was nothing special. Just get an actual R32 Golf 3-door and sleep better at night without worrying that someone will catch on to your illegal Euro-VW.

Ugly, but still better looking than any Mercedes EQ_.

Now playing

Why not an actual manual EV? Not like it’s necessary, but it’d be a helluva lot better than this faking it BS.

Exactly. I have no problems with the BMW-Toyota, it’s just not a ‘Supra’. Supra always meant Japan’s response to the Euro GT elite; it’s like if the ‘90s Supra was a rebadged 6-cylinder 8 Series. It’d still be good, but can that be a Supra?

If the Supra looked like the FT-1...oohhh boy. Alas, it is the FT-1's ideas facsimiled to fit onto a BMW chassis.

Wait until you hear about Radwood, or better yet, Hagerty’s Festival of the Unexceptional.

Loved Queensland’s cassowary warning signs when we were visiting the Far North:

Apparently odd speed recommendation signs are meant to be more noticeable and less easily ignored. One road in our area has all kinds of fun speeds:

My issue is that I hate having a central screen lit up when I’m driving, especially at night. To me it’s a total distraction. All the modern cars I’ve driven so far (Volvo, Hyundai, Toyota) thankfully let you turn it off entirely, and I generally drive around with the infotainment screen completely dark using just the

So cars have to be identical to look alike to you? I don’t know why you’re so insistent they look nothing alike. Ok, we see things differently, good for you. I gave you my reasons, you gave me mine. Moving on.

Here they are in different colors, as you insist. I still see it, so I guess we’ll agree to disagree.

Proportions and graphics are exactly what I’m talking about with DLO treatments and cladding shapes? It’s fine if you don’t see it, but no need to shit on my take or the nine people that agree with me.

Yeah, fuck affordable EVs! Volvo needs to stay niche! Would hate to see more Volvos, then it wouldn’t be special to own one anymore.

Yeah, it’s the whole debate of ‘don’t crash the car trying to save a squirrel’ that is in every drivers’ ed course.

These are on the same platform:

Also wtf is with the angle of the window controls? That seems like they purposely made it as unergonomic as possible.

The funny thing is this Quest was only ever sold in LHD markets. So it was an intentional, ergonomic decision rather than a cost-cutting one. Which makes it worse.

It’s like Pontiac while Volvo is like Oldsmobile. Better?

Meh. Just take one extra flight per year if emissions are that much of a concern.
