CarPlay/Android Auto are not replacing the infotainment system. It's an optional layer on top if you connect a compatible phone. If you don't connect the phone or exit out of the app on the car's system, you're back to the manufacturer's system. "The infotainment system won't do anything" is not a correct statement.

Not how it works. You'll either get the base infotainment which has neither, or option for the upgraded infotainment which has both.

You can argue that Maclin isn't worth $11MM, but he most definitely is worth re-signing for $11MM when you need a receiver and your next best option is Torrey Fucking Smith.
