As a Vita owner every time I read an article about the Nintendo Switch I keep thinking, “Sony almost did it exactly like that....except they were stupid enough to ignore the IO port on the Vita which was originally intended to connect to a TV.”

I completely agree. Both TVs in the house do this. They take a few seconds to display the signal being sent to them.
