Agreed. I was hoping this post would have explained the mechanics instead of saying “a 115 year old mousetrap did it’s fucking job.” Yay?

The article describes it as a see-saw type trap. The modern version of a see-saw mouse trap is this one.

Just because it’s easy to search yourself doesn’t mean we shouldn’t hold these bloggers responsible for putting together a decent article.

Thanks! This community is lucky to have someone like you do the hard work for those of us who are lazy and entitled.

That would require more than reading an article someone else wrote on another site and then regurgitating it in your own words.

There’s a great pdf online of the evolution of the design. Search for ‘sussex industrial history pullinger perpetual mouse trap’

It’s ingenious in its simplicity, based around a seesaw arrangement in the middle. As a mouse goes in, the seesaw tips under its weight, blocking the exit while setting the other side of the trap. There’s another one-way gate which the mouse will explore for lack of options, and so find itself in the end chamber

The trap comes with a tiny cup that the imprisioned rodent can use to rake across the bars.

Is it too much to ask to know how it works? Or is that outside the scope of this tech-related (or was it climate change? politics?) website

UCMJ is not the American Court System, you should know that. He isn’t a “citizen” he is a “soldier”, one who deserted his post, and if you weren’t a fucking liar, and pretending to be military, you would know that the maximum allowed punishment for desertion is what?! Oh thats right, death by firing squad. He doesn’t

That doesn’t even make sense, as I do not support that man.
What I can drop tho is my DD214, which is record of military service, which unless you also possess a DD214 you can go kick rocks, because your opinion on this matter means fuck all.

Typical Gizmodo article.

Six soldiers died because of his intentional desertion, and we had to release five known taliban leaders to get him safely home. Fuck that guy.

Ban shipping items from the other side of the world that should be grown and produced in your own area first. Ban the disposable nature of out modern culture before taking my car. I don’t want to live in a giant, congested city in a high-rise building, crammed into mass transit whenever I need to go anywhere.

I just wonder if they’ll highlight that 6 soldiers were killed in the following missions to find/recover him. This article failed to mention that important bit of information too.

What about people that don’t live in cities? Are we going to invest in effective public transportation for towns of 500 or 1,000 people? What about actual rural areas? Or are we going to force everyone to move to cities and abandon rural areas (ya know, the places where all the food comes from?). This is seriously a

Yeah, awesome. Featuring a traitor and deserter. We used to shoot people for giving secrets to the enemy.
