I imagine your low-performing schools would best the majority of public schools where I’m working.

Our school was designed to be a safe space (a “city on a hill” that provides the tools to break the cycle of poverty). But with the current administration, there are weekly violations of this ideal in both large and small matters.

Ours is actually not that bad on pay. I also taught in private schools for years so this paycheck is making a difference! 

Hence why rowing has been so great for me :)

It flew because there is so little oversight. Charter schools are like colonies, we’re technically accountable to the state, but long as the numbers look fine we’re free to do what we want.

My kids go to a montessori. I’d never put them in a charter and will only do public school if it’s a good district. If your state has standardized testing in early elementary school I’d recommend finding a school (private most likely) that doesn’t care about their scores.
