There's a great treatment on Baseball Prospectus about the notion of decline based on body type. While I agree with you that it could be an issue, look at Ortiz. It could go either way. I'm not looking forward to 36 yr/old Fielder but right now, with our ballpark, I think he's going to do some damage.

haha, while i'm not educated about advanced metrics, I scroll through enough to have some basic presuppositions down I think. Also, there is a great article on there today that goes into the decline of 2b's relative to others (created by Silver). And I just don't like, on principle, the idea of viewing anything

From a Rangers perspective here's what I see

I absolutely agree. But I don't think you can summarize this trade based on one, albeit valuable, stat. There is much more to this trade than WAR value. That was my point.

because one stat can fully summarize an argument

Why? We get to make Profar an everyday player which gives our other young 2b a chance to get quality time a AAA this year. We get a great bat to combine with Beltre, we get a 1b who can drive in runs, and we get to get rid of Kinsler before his stats really start to drop. Other than the monster contract, which it

I'd rather have Fielder than Kinsler, anyone who looks at Kinsler's projected stats would.

Lets just hope their defensive line holds out.

I think the 'hamster on the wheel' that was his sanity, fell off when his brother died; as of late though, I think the hamster joined River in the big Viper Room in the sky.

The only think that could make that gif better is Razor's commentary on it.

Thumbs up meant kill, thumbs down mean drop your sword (your ass survives another day).

Haha, I took Latin because it was easy and my only chance at increasing my SAT scores.

Because, like any equally manicured bro will tell you, it's always less enjoyable when you have to sheathe your sword.

howdidyouknowthat?!?!?!?!

Mine just ignores me now, unless I laugh after consecutive intervals.... then she wants to know what you guys are up to.

As a history teacher that scene drives me up a wall. On the other hand it's nice to see his acting before he totally lost his marbles.
