My main complaint is that it doesn’t seem like the developers tried to improve things like the UI. You still have to cycle through a menu to access your overhead map, and the inventory screen still feels cramped, even though your inventory capacity is as small as ever.

I was skeptical, but this honestly seems like a brilliant idea. When you think about it, the mechanics of an RPG and the mechanics of a long-term fitness routine really are similar — slowly improving, improving your stats, learning new skills. So the single=player quest experience seems intriguing.

I just got Overwatch on Xbox. I’ve never played it before. What should I do? I know that the game doesn’t have a single-player mode, so is there anyway for me to try out the different heroes before jumping online and ruining a bunch of other peoples’ games with my total inexperience?

It looks like Amazon is only offering $10 credit for the physical release, but not if you pre-order a digital code.

Seems like it’s fair to say that Arneson invented the very concept of tabletop RPGs, while Gygax invented the actual game D&D. So Gygax is the father of D&D, just not the father of the tabletop RPG genre.

I currently have Netflix, Hulu (ad-free), and Amazon Prime. I don’t think of myself as a Disney fanatic, but I do watch a lot of MCU and Star Wars movies and TV shows, so Disney+ is probably a no brainer.

I’m primarily a console gamer, not a PC gamer, so the intense hatred that people have for Epic’s game store just mystifies me. I don’t love platform exclusives, but that’s mostly because I need to spend hundreds of dollars on a second (or third) console to play them. I certainly wouldn’t be complaining if all I had to

It’s possible that the Switch Lite will use a different type of joystick.

Not to mention Super Mario Odyssey, Smash, Mario Kart, and a bunch of amazing indies (which aren’t Switch exclusives but really shine on the Switch)

I’ve been experiencing this on my left Joy-Con (which I’ve had for about a year) and I had no idea it was such a widespread problem, so I just switched to a different pair of Joy-Cons (which I only previously used for multiplayer games).

My plan is to boycott Amazon for the duration of the six-hour work stoppage, but not for the whole 48-hour Prime Day. If there’s a dip in sales for just those six hours, it will show that customers are in solidarity with employees.

People got SO MAD on me for Twitter for not knowing it was Redford. But like you, I mostly know (young) Redford from ATPM, where he looks like a totally different person. I’m honestly surprised that so many people knew this was Redford!

This is obviously not for people who *already* own a Switch. It’s for people who don’t have a Switch yet, especially people who currently have a 3DS.

I’m not really interested in making Super Mario levels, so I never really thought about buying this game (and didn’t quite understand all the hype over a level editor). Are you saying that I could still enjoy it even if I don’t want to create my own levels?

I mostly agree with you that the name is bad, even though I love the genre. I don’t think I had ever played a Metroidvania before last year, when I went looking for more games to play on the Switch. I quickly discovered a bunch of highly recommended indie games described as “Metroidvanias” and my first thought was,

Despite an interface that’s well-suited to mobile, however, neither Auto Chess nor Dota Underlords are currently in the iOS App Store’s list of top-100 free games.

Don’t forget her indignant response to people who suggested that her mom was setting her up for a Supreme Court clerkship.

I do miss the old weirdness, though, as inconvenient as it could sometimes be.

Speaking as someone who’s covered politics for 20 years, Jonah Ryan terrifies me. I find his mindless, toxic fear-mongering a dangerous addition to our already divisive political climate. Tomorrow morning, we’ll be live with exclusive coverage of Congressman Ryan’s rally in Youngstown, Ohio. Only on CNN.
