Ordered mine just a few moments ago. I passed on the first iteration, figuring I would go for the next gen. The lack of a retina screen isn't a big deal for me. I thought briefly about checking out the stores, but really, waiting a few days won't hurt that badly. I just hope I didn't make the wrong choice going for

Windows...how many times have you moved to maximize a window, only to hit the "x" instead?

@tacotime: I'm russian, so I've been allowed drinks at special occasions ever since I can remember, a glass of champagne on my birthdays, etc. I was 17 the first time I got drunk. I went to a frat party with my college roommates. There was a security booth in front of the house, where guards were checking licenses.

@mike_311: I'm actually in the same situation so I'm looking forward to the answers, though I want to upgrade my D3000 to the D7000.

I'm one of those self-satisfied people that don't have cable. I can't help it—it's not like I walk up to everyone and announce it. But they ask "hey have you seen that new Geico commercial?" and I'm all "nope, I don't see any commercials anymore, I don't have cable service."

@TTA579: This. I have to beg people to relax and forget the camera at social events/family functions. I manage a couple of good candid shots and everyone oohs and ahhs, and I say, "see? This is why I yell when you stop what you're doing and pose."

@Platypus Man: The upstairs is taking quite a bit to cool. Example: our AC is set to 78. Current temp in the house (upstairs) is 84. Within two hours of the unit working, it's MAYBE gone down to 82. It feels like a major waste of electricity to have the unit running all that time and hardly doing anything.

My house has two HVAC units—one (larger) for downstairs, one (smaller) for upstairs. We spend 95% of our time upstairs. Would swapping the units be possible, and would it help cool the upstairs down quicker?

Yeah, in Atlanta, it feels like we'll be in summer for the rest of the year...

@vrillusions: 3 second rule? Never heard of it. All I know is I'm not a fan of the light turning back to red on me because the guy at the head of the line took his time moving forward.

It's great to get in good with your RA, but please don't get too clingy. They get paid very little to be your babysitter and therapist—try not to knock on their door every time you have the slightest personal crisis.

I just bought a house, built in 2004. My bedroom seems to get the coldest in the house, while the other rooms take much longer to cool down. I keep the thermostat set to 78, but the upstairs almost never gets down that low, so the AC unit just keeps going, which means my bedroom gets unbearably cold.

Too bad he doesn't know how to use apostrophes.

@Lord_Data ∞: Yeah, those things never actually erased properly for me. Instead, they'd just leave a blue/gray streak where writing used to be.

I'd much rather have NYC's subway system than Atlanta's MARTA, which is pretty much useless unless you're going to the ballgame or the airport.

Microcenter's self-branded SD cards are Class 6. You get a low-price, high-spec card—best of both worlds.

@destryer: well, sister, but thanks.

@cormack: From my brief experience with the Magic Mouse, I'm under the impression that it isn't capable of all the multitouch gestures like the trackpad is. You can expose on the Magic Mouse, for instance.

@shkm: As someone who just went through the process of trying to find an alternative bluetooth option to the Magic Mouse (or Mighty Mouse), I'd argue that there are virtually no truly superior peripherals available. I finally settled on a full-size Radtech, but even that is severely limited in comfort and function.
