Are these tips or rants?

Hard to believe Wolfram Alpha actually charges for their mobile app. I just stuck their mobile site to my home screen.

Yeah usually the early upgrades are a benefit of paying a higher plan rate. Like, if you spend a certain amount per month you can upgrade early, otherwise you have to wait the standard contract length of time.

Their milk is regular-sized too. It's a little thing, but I prefer the shape of their gallons to my regular supermarkets'. They're easier to control when they're full.

Also, Costco doesn't check for membership cards if you go in just for the pizza/hotdog stand. Cheap and tasty pizza, hot dogs, and froyo with no hassle.

The only thing remotely attractive to me is Siri, and it's just not enough to motivate me to upgrade from my iPhone 4. Not to mention, I don't get why it's exclusive to the 4s...it just seems like extra software. I guess they're limiting it to the 4s to make the phone more attractive, but instead, it's just annoying.

Install the "Better Facebook" userscript (with Greasemonkey of course) and it'll tell you when you're unfriended, and by whom...

You are wrong. Costco sells liquor in Georgia—I've seen it.

Remember? She still posts videos as communitychannel. No past tense here.

I'm crazy about my Rokinon 85mm f/1.4—it's by far my favorite lens in my kit. The manual focus is a pain sometimes, but completely worth it.

Because the MTA is a corrupt agency built around paying contractors for the slowest, shoddiest work in the history of mankind.

If you want great performance in low light you won't get it from your kit lens. You need to get a 50mm f/1.8. It'll only cost you about $120. Worry less about zooms and more about optics—move with your feet if you want to get closer/further away.

Personally, if you're spending $250 or more at B&N in a calendar year, the card is more than worth it, especially when you consider that other members of your family use it too. I always prefer a guaranteed savings to a points-based savings, I like being able to use my discount any time, and I like getting 10% off in

Were you a member, or were you just on the email list? There's a difference. I rang up a ton of member coupons during my time as a bookseller.

Well, there's more bacteria on an upholstered chair than on a wooden or metal chair. And I'd say the bacteria on a chair varies greatly based on the kind of people the chair attracts. Our "cushy" chairs were usually hogged all day by the homeless and the stinky.

I'm going to be a second shooter for a wedding in September. It's my first wedding, and my first time as a second shooter. What do I really need to focus on, and how can I keep myself going form 8am-3pm? Caveat: I'll also be 6 months pregnant.

As a former B&N bookseller, I've always had an irrational dislike for Borders. Their blonde shelving, their gaudy red signs, their casually-dressed booksellers (okay, there might have been some jealousy about that last part too). The comparisons of our paid membership (with a guaranteed savings at every transaction)

Yeah, that trend bar was pretty damn annoying. So I downloaded "Twizzler" on my jailbroken phone. Problem solved!

Sad to see Echofon isn't working. And sad to see the status bar seems to have disappeared entirely.

My work laptop runs on Windows XP. We can't upgrade to 7 due to our software requirements.
