For me, it's THE HORSEMAN, about a grieving dad who exacts terrible revenge upon the men involved in his daughter's death. I found it an emotionally powerful movie, especially revelations later on, but good grief if it isn't also draining.

He’s going to play Pinocchio's nose, isn't he?

“Are you sure we’re on the right side?” was such a great line, coming after the reveal that the ISA plan to actually make the country better. I also liked the way the team were desperate for some proof of villainy, so the reveal that 25 million people would die was like “Oh thank goodness, they really are bad guys.”

I know there’s a theory that King has people write stuff for him (I don’t believe that at all) but I think it’s far more likely he struck a terrible deal many moons ago, and if he stops writing he dies. Read more

I got his haircut after seeing the movie! I also wanted to change my name to 'Mondo'. Ahh, I miss you, 90s.

When this came out on video, a big group of us had a massive house party and watched it... Then kept rewinding it and letting it play again, all night, so it accompanied a lot of mid-90s college house party shenanigans. It was also the first and last time I got stoned and drunk at the same time. Horrendous. But still Read more

I hope this movie introduces his evil European-and-much-classier nemesis, French Vanilla.

Just got round to watching this and although it looked amazing, it was completely cack-handed in almost every other aspect. Mostly the script, for me. It was also the most melodramatic hour of TV I’ve seen in quite some time, and not in a fun Lifetime movie kind of way either. Read more

This was a really good episode because it had real stakes, and consequences that I can’t imagine will be easy to ‘fix’ (ie. Daisy’s torture*, and Mack’s parents - I also just realised this was especially terrible as MAC HATES ROBOTS! Is this why?!). Read more

TURTLES FOREVER was a lot of fun, and I liked the TMNT 2007 movie, even though it was weird it had no relation to anything else turtles-related going on at the time. I’d like to see this version go fucking mental with mutants. Just bang ‘em all in. And have the character designs based on the 90s toyline, because they Read more

I have vague memories of either seeing a waxwork version that had people clinging to metalwork as water flooded over them, or being in an interactive version that had this in it. This must have been around 1985 (I was 5 or 6) and it was shit scary.

Ooo, good call!

I’d also have liked to hear someone with a really sonorous voice, like James Earl Jones, narrating this new series.

Does the janitor seriously keep a medieval sword just laying around in his cupboard? And was that the holy grail on his desk...? I thought that perhaps he’d end up being Dr. Fate, because isn’t the human host supposed to go a little nuts when they’re not channeling Doc? But sure, I’ll take an actual knight. Why not? Read more

The fight scenes were a lot of fun, especially Sportsmaster vs Hourman - I know from TMNT that some dude with a sports fixation can be a formidable opponent but I didn’t expect Sportsmaster to be so...ruthless? “Good for you, kid. That looks heavy.” Read more
