Richard Dreyfus Kicks Up A Dickheaded Fuss, news at 11!

It was the first song I heard by them, so when I then heard their typical stuff I couldn’t believe it was the same band. I still really like this one, though.

It’s a phenomenal soundtrack. All the songs make sense in the context of the time period, source material and film itself, which I really don’t think modern soundtracks manage to pull off.

Honourable mention to the soundtrack for Escape From LA, which aaaalllllmost reaches the heady heights of this one, but I think

You are 97% correct. The only things that would bump it up to 100 are:

Batman Forever
Mortal Kombat
Lost Highway

Fuck yes! EEEEVVVIILLLLLLL! A show that gets better and somehow more deranged as it goes on.

I really can’t see the remake having the same impact, likely because there is simply so much more STUFF out there that can ‘speak to’ the target audience compared to when the original came out.

Yeah, exactly. I’m all for enthusiasm and passion in a written piece, but there are fundamentals of article/review writing that should always hold true, like coherence. I’d love to know if the AV Club has a style guide or a writer SOP, but I wouldn’t be at all surprised if there isn’t either one.

I did say it was a rhetorical question!

Well I am 100,000% sold.

Look, I’m glad they let you out the house to watch a movie, and that it had an impact on you, but I’m the head editor for a content writing agency in real life, and I swear, if an article like this crossed my desk it’d go straight to another writer to rewrite.

Galactus appears: I WILL EAT YOUR PLANET AND NONE OF YOUR HEROES CAN STOP ME!

Dr. Doom suddenly appears: You are correct, and that is why Doom is here. (Proceeds to soundly defeat Galactus)

Rampaging super animals? Why not.

Haha! Good thing I wasn’t drinking because I’d have done a spit-take.

LAST RONIN is a good comic! And why do people always forget that the original TMNT was never the goofy colour-coded team, but aimed at adults older kids with a bunch of violence. I don’t mind seeing that version again (even if it’s more serious than the original ‘gritty’ tone).

MADAME WEBB is not a GOOD movie but it is an ENTERTAINING one, even though it’s trying really hard not to be this too (Grand Canyon-size plot holes, the aforementioned dubbing, the overall laziness of the script).

Tommy Lee Jones for Harry Powell!

Tommy Lee Jones for Harry Powell!

I really like how the Real Ghostbusters are presented as the actual guys, and the movie version is exactly that - a movie version, not the same people (there’s an episode where they go watch it and aren’t too impressed!).

Some aspects of the original GHOSTBUSTERS really haven’t aged well, like just how sleazy Venkman actually is (if he existed as that version of the character today, he’d get maced pretty quick I bet). But, overall, it’s still a stone cold classic.

I also really like GHOSTBUSTERS 2! It even has a whole meta angle that

AFTERLIFE was enjoyable, mostly for Paul Rudd, but the fact it cherry-picked the nostalgia stuff left a bad taste in my mouth (setting it in a world that has forgotten what the Ghostbusters did was a nice touch, but it also completely ignores the events of GB2 which felt lazy to me).

Does this new one retcon that
