That’s not the plot at all. He knew Jenova wasn’t an ancient by the time the main events in FFVII are underway. In AC his goal is to harness the planet and use it as a vessel to traverse the cosmos, as Jenova did before him. The end of FFVIIR gives a bit more insight into his motivation for doing so.

Cloud will brood forever because that’s what the fans want.

There’s a lot in AC that doesn’t age very well in terms of direction and editing (it screamsearly 2000s action movie), but the core story, at least in the Complete edition, is actually pretty solid and I think underrated, or maybe just misunderstood.

I actually feel the same. I mean, fuck EA, sure, but as far as putting ads in a video game goes, this is pretty unobtrusive and also true to actual UFC broadcasts.

It’s honestly a bit silly that wheelchairs are even necessary in the Marvel universe, given how advanced medicine and technology is.

Seems to me like there is a community of individuals who could be playing games together instead of letting racist randos ruin their experience. The sad reality is just that assholes are loud. Not saying it’s not disproportionate, but even being a white guy isn’t a silver bullet for online harassment in games. Best

Rival Schools finally formally joins the pantheon. Now they just need to add one of the Code Holders from CFAS...

Hey, congrats on beating them to the punch.

I'd be more worried about Slayer. Nagoriyuki is a vampire.

There may be some broad strokes similarities, particularly to season 6, but “very close to HBO” is already pretty much impossible at this point, given how drastically different some storylines and characters are, including who is alive and who is dead. For example, the Night King isn’t even a character in the source

This stuff is honestly amazing. I know there are some moral and legal questions regarding this data breach, but I sincerely hope that this kind of material is always archived properly so that it can eventually be made public. There are so many prototypes, design documents, pitch decks, concept art, etc. that wind up

I don’t really know anything about the people behind LIA, but my gut is that the artist probably isn’t really being challenged or critiqued, so they aren’t improving. Every time I read a LIA strip in these articles I just get the overwhelming feeling that the artist’s talent is going to waste.

Accidentally double posted.

Honestly the layout on this one is pretty bad. The position of the boxes is left to right, but the angles on the gutters and positioning and flow of word bubbles is working against it. This is what my eyes did the first time I read it, starting with the circled panel. Color coded it to show where it’s going wrong,

The grading and sealing of games is a fairly recent phenomena, afaik. Historically, videogame collectors have wanted to play their games on real hardware, so price was more about rarity, and a lot just collect loose carts. I know a lot of the hardcore collectors hate grading because it’s turning it into a speculation

Keep in mind that a significant portion of what’s going on in these markets is money laundering. At least, enough that there have been several attempts to curb it through legislation. That, and speculation.

Do it.

Smash is pretty much entirely grass roots and never really changed as its players aged up, so it doesn’t have the necessary oversight and regulations. That’s why there are so many teenagers hanging out with older players in their 20s and 30s, who generally entered the scene in their teens, and now have clout and power

I don’t know about the worst period, but it’s certainly the black sheep of the FGC.

From what I understand, the Smash scene had pretty unique issues stemming from its inception. In the old days it was basically a homegrown scene of local meetups and tourneys organized almost entirely by teenagers, often in private residences, and often with a party atmosphere involving drinking, drugs, and casual sex.
