Really? Because in the interview he most recently posted on his facebook, he says that FFXV is the favorite project he’s worked on because he was able to work with Nomura, and because Nomura put a lot of trust and faith in him. He’s also working on FFVIIR and said he wants to work on the Kingdom Hearts franchise.

Pushing the character artists to take advantage of new technology isn’t “being a dick.”

Japanese executives are notoriously slow to adapt.

every game

They’re still developing their own engine, though. It’s likely that Final Fantasy XVI will be made using Luminous Studio.

He said in an interview yesterday that they aren’t currently planning on porting them to any other platforms because all hands are on deck to finish KH3, and they don’t want to do anything that will pull people away from it.

Eh, mostly only in the PS2 era, because by his own admission, he was trying to design characters that would be difficult for the 3D character artists to model.

He’s released a Kingdom Hearts game almost every year since 2008. When he has a project that’s small enough for him to complete without his AAA development team getting constantly dragged off to finish other projects, it seems like there is no problem with him releasing titles.

Right, because it’s not like we don’t have a detailed analysis of the absolute disasters that Final Fantasy XIII and Final Fantasy XIV were, and how Square’s prioritization of those games pulled staff from projects like FFvXIII and FFaXIII to get them ready / reworked in time. And it’s not like FFvXIII underwent an

You mean back when they didn’t need massive development teams to try and make triple-A international best sellers?

He’s not in charge of when the games get announced, and he’s consistently criticized how Square does PR. He didn’t even know for sure that he was officially directing FFVIIR when they released the trailer at E3 saying he was the director.

Not only that, but there’s also the whole process of having to transition to a new engine.

Well, he’s certainly really attached to Final Fantasy and Kingdom Hearts, so I can understand why he would stay. Unlike many of the directors and artists who have left, he’s at least been able to make the games he’s wanted to make... for the most part.

Right, they had similarily pulled staff from lots of projects to do Final Fantasy XIII, and similar technical changes (switching from PS3 to PS4) effectively forced the project to restart.

This game feels so unoriginal. Gameplay copied from Smash, characters aping the style of Overwatch. The concept/key art looks good, but the game itself looks... yeah, I’ll just say “bad.”

Now playing

The story mode for Guilty Gear Xrd is basically a 5~ hour long OVA rendered in-engine.

I know that this is probably fundamentally going to be a sprite-dump side project while they work on a new BlazBlue series on UE4, but I really hope they can manage to cram a few more series in there. Arc System Works owns Kunio-kun and Double Dragon now, so it really feels like we could get a big ASW crossover game

I’ve never heard of controller disconnects being a problem with this game outside of faulty hardware, and the problem has occured with all games being played on these machines.

For the prologue, which is the first of 8 bosses. I suspect there will be more rewards after that.

Something about that second interview makes me think of a former Disney child star doing their first music video dressed like a slut and licking doorknobs or whatever.
