Hell, they wouldn’t even recognize Snow White with a BP nom back in 37, despite it being universally regarded at the time as a major artistic breakthrough, one of the greatest films ever made, AND becoming the top grossing movie of all time until Gone with the Wind.  They copped out and gave Disney an honorary Oscar.

I agree 100%

That’s true but it just felt flat to me.

The Academy has taken itself way too seriously for a long, long time. The fact is that the Academy views comedy as inferior to drama, same with horror and animation. Don’t forget that the Best Animated Feature category was created because Beauty & The Beast had been nominated for Best Picture the previous year, and

I thought it was pretty ironic that Colleen yelled at Danny all season for solving problems with violence but then she gets the powers and is shown solving a problem with...violence! That ending made her character super hypocritical.

I like Stewart. I’m happy to have him back, especially with this being an election year.

Fully agreed. If anything, I really liked the material with Pelphrey and the father in Season 1. And Season 2 was smart to lean in more on Henwick as they prepped her to take over. Jones was ok (I thought he acquitted himself well enough in the fights, on short notice) but Danny was written so terribly, he never stood

I honestly didn’t think Iron Fist was that bad as a show. A lot of the supporting cast was good, especially Jessica Henwick and Tom Pelphrey. They just totally and completely botched the casting of Danny Rand. Finn Jones may have looked the part but his acting was dull and it was leaked that he had little to no

Now we need Alice Eve to finally get that Typhoid Mary payoff!

I hope DD is a success because then maybe Jessica Jones, Cage and Iron Fist will also be brought back.

So it took them (checks calendar) 5 years to figure out that they should just continue the super popular old show?

Good news about Foggy and Karen. I think Elden Henson and Deborah Woll were really good and I thought it was a misstep not to include them in Born Again.

As bad as Iron Fist was, the second season ended super strong IMO. Colleen Wing as the new Iron Fist on the streets of NYC with a freaking glowing sword and Danny and Ward finally reconciled and off having silly adventures overseas as brothers.

I remain skeptical that Disney will really continue the look and feel of Netflix’s series, but this is possibly a sign that they may come close.

Bummer! I am NOT the in the demographic age for’ this show, but there were never shows that included me when I was the “right” age, so I was immediately hooked on The Fosters. The continuation of the story on Good Trouble is like home. I will mourn the loss of the show, and the ability to keep up with the Fosters as

Yeah, all due respect to Oliver Stone, Gerwig made something affecting and of substance, and entertaining, out of a movie about Barbie dolls, which is really pretty impressive. I’m not a hardcore Barbie fan, but I thought it was really great, and it would have been nice for Gerwig to have gotten some recognition. Same

Greta Gerwig and Margot Robbie left out of the Director and Actress categories seem like huge snubs, unless there’s some eligibility thing I’m missing.

Well Barbie got screwed out of Best Director, Best Actress, and Best Org Screenplay (don’t give me that “adapted” crap). I hope it sweeps its categories.

That’s Kyle MacLachlan! Though he does look a bit like Ash in that shot.

Maybe I’m in the minority, but I vastly prefer the weekly release schedule. Something fun and nostalgic about waiting with the rest of humanity to watch something.
