I will be devastated if they don’t at least have some throwaway joke or cameo from Ian Duncan.

I described the climax of Into Darkness to a friend who had managed to forget the film (Kirk goes into the warp drive and kicks a thing into another thing! Then he returns to the entrance and dies of radiation poisoning while he and Spock make the Vulcan salute! Spock yells Khan and then has a big tantrum, chases down

Does Frank have no friends because he’s unlikeable? Or is he unlikeable because he has no friends?

This really is one of Charles’s finest moments. The whole plot really gets at the meat of some of his weaknesses and challenges him to overcome them, and in a way that is so unique and specific to him (music). I love it.

“Sydney, what’s the psychological basis for gambling?”
“Sex.”
“Really?”
“It’s what they told me to say. Sex is why we drink, sex is why we gamble, sex is why we give birth.”
“Thank you, Doctor.”
“I’m taking a five-dollar chip. That was a house call.”

Hard to argue with the picks for Hawkeye and Margaret - though another one I love for Hawkeye is Bottle Fatigue. (Sticky Wicket is one of my favorite early Hawkeye episodes because it’s the first time they really challenge his massive ego and paint him as actually being flawed.)

When Black Widow came out, I felt like everything about it was overshadowed by the Scarlett Johansson lawsuit, and so Yelena didn’t quite became the beloved fan-favorite she should’ve been. Fortunately, we got more of her in Hawkeye, and the appreciation for her has grown.

Bucky’s unfiltered hatred of John Walker was one of the best parts of the tv series.

Ford only agreed to make the movie if Han Indy dies.

I am almost irrationally excited for it. I have full confidence that they can pull it off.

A list of some of silly episodes from older Star Trek:

Hey, can we call Strange New Worlds a winner? It had a really great first season, and is already on track to be one of the best Star Trek tv shows.

I don’t love the film industry’s obsessive need to try and adapt video games...but at least others like Halo and The Last of Us have a logical, workable story that seems reasonably translateable into film or television. But BioShock is such a weird one to even consider. It’s one of the ultimate examples of a game

Personally, I’d rather they cast someone already in their 40s. Mystique needs to have some age to her. 34 is too young for the role.

I like Star Wars. I like Marvel. Is it really necessary to diss one in order to defend the other? It’s not like the ‘too much Marvel’ complaints came from anyone at Lucasfilm (unless I missed something).

Ana de Armas is great, but imo she’s way too young to play Mystique. I think there are some New Mutants for which she might better fit the profile.

Looking back at the sequel trilogy, I can’t help but think that Poe surviving (where he was originally supposed to die) was a big mistake. Both previous trilogies were built around three characters that each play a specific role (Luke-Leia-Han, Anakin-Padme-Obi-Wan). The sequels were likely intending the same with

Amen.

Yay.
