Those stock photos are about as far off road as those tires are going to get you...

I think the first gen Audi TT with its baseball stitch leather deserves a mentions.

Will it win the American Sedan class in this year’s Tire Rack One Lap of America (which starts on Saturday) at the hands of Stellantis’ Vehicle Dynamics Engineer, David Carr?

My wife and I thought the documentary was fascinating. I couldn’t believe that I hadn’t heard this story until Jalopnik alerted me to the docu-series.

Maybe it would be beneficial for the local government to aid with road maintenance, as the economic boost would be for the good of all the residents.

Assuming those landowners have jobs or sell product. If the economy is boosted, most everyone wins.
As some are noting, though, road repair could be not worth it for the individual landowner. In this case, it could be beneficial for the local government to aid with road maintenance for the good of all the residents.

If their tourism industry is sized for ski season, I’m certain that they would benefit greatly from a more fruitful off-season, unless they just go ahead and shut down in the off-season.

I wonder if they’re properly evaluating the cost of road deterioration against the influx of spending from those coming into these towns, staying at their hotels, eating at their restaurants, and buying their fuel.

And every on-ramp is decreasing-radius, rather than increasing!

Which is that? I seem to recall one going in at Winton Rd., possibly, but have only been back for semi-annual visits since moving away 16 years ago.

Now playing

I was actually involved in some of the initial development. AFAIK, I’m the only one to have driven one on track at full speed. Granted, it didn’t have the final engine and a lot of other improvements that came from the test, but it had good potential.

They work great. They’re HEAVY and cumbersome, but when they’re in place, they work well. I got wall hangers for the lifting mechanism and store the entire electrohydraulic pump and lines in a cabinet that’s close enough that I don’t even need to take it out to connect it.

Side note: For future wheel spacers, check out 4WheelSpacers.com out of Canada. They had great customer service, low cost (relatively), and a great product, which includes longer bolts. They even had hub-centric 8mm spacers (which is possible since Porsche’s hub bores are not a continuous circle, but 3 separate “tabs”

Interesting... I JUST rebuilt and refinished the calipers on my 981 Boxster S, myself. I was contemplating whether to freshen the paint myself, or send them off to be done. I tried my local powdercoater, who does work for Pratt&Miller, but they were concerned that the original powdercoat is so hard that the media that

Sunroof mechanism fix on my Z3 Coupe. The thing is, the roof only tips up. It doesn’t slide. So, getting it working right is kinda low on my priority list... Also, the guy that’s machining the permanent repair/replacement parts wants like $300 for a pair of clips.

Apparently Jalopnik is the best place to buy and sell a vehicle!! =D

Elizabeth, will you bedriving your own vehicle on track, or is this an event where a vehicle is provided?
I would distinguish the difference between a “track day” and HPDE, or High Performance Driver Education. The emphasis being on the “E”. HPDE would indicate INSTRUCTED driving schools rather than open track days

The Stinger GT is a great car for the money. Like many others, I wish it came from a more prestigious brand, but if I can get myself to deal with only 2 pedals, I could see myself giving up an an E91 328i wagon (prices are up over $20k for cars 50-100k miles) and getting nearly the practicality with a lot more speed

This is why you should always cross your safety chains!
