There’s something of a cliff behind where his car was, so I was looking to see if he could have tumbled down that hill. But, there are backs of houses right above that spot and no road that he could have come from. Also, the statement that he was travelling northbound allows us to pretty much see his trajectory.
Here’s the location of the crash. Its hard to see what he might have impacted, other than just being tripped up by the curb and rolling. He would have first crossed the median to get across the road to this point since it was stated that he was headed northbound.
I must admit, I was smitten to receive this key when I recently picked up a 2014 Boxster S :)
Nice!
Might’ve been... on 65? It was a long while ago.
Raph, you have convinced me to stop manually deploying the spoiler in my Boxster S :)
Side note, Porsche lost an opportunity to make a deployable SPLITTER in front, a la Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio. I’m sure the 911 was engineered to be perfectly aero balanced, but they could’ve amped it up even more if they were…
Not including on racetracks, I ran out twice in my former RX-8. That had a very literal fuel gauge and generally terrible fuel economy. Once was more or less in my neighborhood and my aunt, who lived nearby, was able to deliver me a few gallons. The other time, I ran out while approaching the gas station and was able…
LOL... It was probably selling at the very moment when you were telling me about it on the phone. And I WAS IN CHELSEA at the time!
Nice! It still baffles me to this day that BMW would so blatantly abandon their nomenclature so as to actually label a 2.5 as 2.3. Because, you know... everyone buys cars based on their badge.
...crap, that’s probably true. Hence all the M Sports and copycats of the like.
Anyway, I’m glad you still get to enjoy it!
Funny thing about those cars! I had a ‘97 2.8L Roadster, Atlanta Blue, with license plate GOLDENYE. I got it while I was in college and it was still a current model (made possible by also working, selling cars, and living at home). I did a ton of autocross in it and drove it all over. Those were great days. It then…
ACTUALLY... Around 2004, I was hanging out with my good friend, his gf, and his gf’s roommate. We went out for a drive, with the roommate riding with me. I may have performed a reverse-180 (aka J-turn) in my Z3 2.8 Roadster (which was relatively new at the time and we were in college). We did date for a little while...
Families that race together, stay together!
At least you know she didn’t marry you for your Mustang ;)
The Fiero is another story... I did keep it. I did a bunch of work in the winter of 2019 and it was awesome. Finally handling like something I could actually enjoy driving like a sports car.
Then, finishing up what was only my second drive of the year in it, early in the pandemic, the car was totaled in a road…
THANKS!
The 550 was a dream come true. I’d always thought about leaving the church of my wedding in an exotic and, specifically, a Ferrari, but thought a sports car might be a bit gaudy. A GT would be perfect. I later realized that there was one in the family (my father’s cousin) who I had a good relationship with and…
Believe it or not, my Pontiac Fiero introduced my wife and I to each other. A few days into her starting work in the office I worked in, she overheard me talking about my 20k mile ‘88 Fiero GT 5-spd, which I’d driven into work that day. I could feel her looking at me from a couple aisles over and I turned. She asked,…
Sales Tax.
I didn’t even read this yet, but came to say, We pay tax on used cars, so governmental credits on used cars would make equal (non)sense!
No mention of ride and handling improvements or degradations with the new larger wheels and lower profile tires? Wheel/tire width seems to have narrowed significantly. Has foot pedal/calorie economy been improved as a result? Come on, Jason. HOW DOES IT DRIVE???
