I’m also a donor, and just for completeness, I’ll reply to you too. Some donors make a profit but I didn’t. I’m in Canada and we aren’t technically allowed to profit from it, so I went the altruistic route and was only compensated for my expenses. Like the other donor, I also responded well and didn’t really have a

I’m a second-year medical student. I assure you we have courses in evidence-based care, patient-centred care, and that we are all training daily in medical school on how to evaluate the evidence behind what we practice. My preceptors (doctors in practice) also challenge us and themselves on it too. It’s the very

Second-year med student here. AKA not a doctor :)

I need advice.

I gasped when i saw it. Good job!

The eye drop one is bogus, sorry to say:

Maybe that’s why it’s always gotten to me. I have to say though, I’m trying to not be so elitist with respect to intellectualism. I’m a med student, in first year. The way people react to that has been astounding. I admit, watching someone’s jaw drop, literally, when you tell them what you do was interesting at first,

I just hooked up with this guy. Honestly, I’m happy I did, but he says “nuc-u-lar” and not “nuc-le-ar” and I have to hold myself back from correcting him. I already did it once and he said, again “yeah. nuc-u-lar”. He definitely has other flaws too but somehow it’s the one that sticks out.

Yes. There are so many easier ways to make a baby with assisted reproduction than IVF- there is a reason for the IVF. A single woman can even do the "turkey baster" method, essentially, at a fertility clinic for way less than IVF. Like another commenter said- you are not going to save the day here.

He just looks so much like Stephen Harper to me I can't get over it

OK, so hold on. If historically women used bras for athletics/war, then there's probably a reason for it, you know. Like reducing pain. And reducing the annoying breasts flapping around. I don't want a bunch of energy going into breast movement.

I also usually do up my eyes. I know this isn't really what you're asking for, but Clinique Black Honey is everything if you want something just a little more than chapstick, an somehow looks good on every single person. It's magical.

Pretty much all IVF or other assisted reproductive techniques are only available to wealthy people. It's not publicly funded (except in a few places, Quebec springs to mind but they may be changing it). I've been an egg donor 3x. The amount of money people/couples can spend on IVF treatments is ridiculous, and I was a

Thank you for sharing your story. It's so important to hear things like this, and I'm sure it takes courage for you to do it, even on the internet. So thank you.

I'm a Canadian medical student and struggling with the decision of whether or not to provide abortions when I'm licensed. I have come around to being actually capable and confident to do them, but the personal and community consequences are pretty profound still. I'm training in a very conservative region and we don't

I think that at this point it's becoming a lot more common to tell your kids. I was an egg donor, and even though I had pretty lax "requirements" for the families I donated to, I really really wanted to make sure they were going to tell the child(ren), and I wanted to make sure I had full names to pass onto my sister

After 2 years of living with my boyfriend and his two teenage boys (they are with him half-time), I went back to school. I"m home for the holidays. The house is a disaster. I still don't feel appreciated, and it's strange because I really can spend the entire day cleaning up after them, but I actually don't think they

Right. I've just lost track of when we go to the polls. I think I just decided to ignore it 5 years ago becase it seemed so so far away.

My vote next year (Canadian election is next year, right? Please say we have a chance to out Harper soon) will go to whichever party/candidate will focus the most on aboriginal rights. I live in the far north and violence against aboriginal women and girls can be very high in some parts up here.

I don't think many doctors "endorse" it. Actually, it seems that a lot of docs are aware of the kind of misleading figures used by the harmony test, and warn their patients accordingly. I am a first yr med student (so I'm only commenting on what I've seen so far), but we have already been told about these tests in
